Re: 2024/2025 Lineup

Dajuan was the Brady Morningstar of 2022. He played good defense and helped the offense flow. Role players are needed and sometimes fit better than a superior player

It seemed to work well with Kj. Not so much with Hunter.

Re: 2024/2025 Lineup

Wasn't Harris something like +20 that second half? Like, the comeback happened with him in, and iirc we were up when he went out. Then we were basically even the rest of the way. I'm not saying Remy's big plays weren't essential, they absolutely were. He was huge. But there seems to be a narrative ...

Re: 2024/2025 Lineup

Kj had almost nothing to do with it, but in the final four Dajuan had 11pts, 7ast, 5stl, 1blk, and 57min played......so I'd say Dajuan had quite a bit to do with the 21/22 title. This. You all motivated me to watch the 2nd half versus UNC again. Sure he contributed, but we probably don’t win if we ...

2 national championships would put them in uncharted territory.
Would love to see it, but wouldn't say either one had a lot to do with the first one

Watch KJ show up next fall with a semi respectable junpshot

Re: 2024/2025 Lineup

It feels like we have 6 starters on the roster with dajuan, zeke, Griffen, storr, kj, and hunter. The odd man out might depend on who plays best together and might change as the season progresses If kugel is here he will factor into that. Then you've still got elmarko who I expect good things from b...

Re: 2024/2025 Lineup

So definite starters are Juan Storrs KJ Hunter Fifth is between Elmarko, Griffen, and Mayo. The two of those that don't start should be in the rotation. Then either Bidunga or Clemence playing backup 5 and maybe some 4. But probably not both, cause Self. I assume based on rumors no Kugel. Maybe red...

Re: 2024/2025 Lineup

Storr can play the 4. I hope Hunter plays 20-22 minutes a game. I know that's not gonna happen but....I can hope. It'll be more than that... but I agree. I hope he's closer to 25 than 35 tho Keep him fresh and high energy, and we might be able to get more defense out of him. I'd love to see his num...

Re: 2024/2025 Lineup

Elmarko gonna be a hell of a back up pg, and gonna push the portal guys for a starting spot. Elmarko could be pretty elite off the bench with his size and speed. Can play some 1 and 2 and come in aggressive as energetic as hell. I'm seeing a big step forward in his play, but probably about the same ...

Re: Goodbye Hunter Dickinson

Our eggs are still very much in hunters basket. He's going to play a ton again. We do have some options to rest him more, with other guys to look to for scoring when hunter is out, so hopefully that helps. But he is still going to play 30ish minutes a game. Nobody doubts he can get us 20 and 10. But...

Re: Goodbye Hunter Dickinson

That's because fans are irrational when things don't go well. The team sucked and HD was on the team so some angry fans who don't like HD blame it on him. This is me. Fuck HD. KU didn't have enough guys to make a deep tourney run so I am not mad as if KU missed some golden chance at a natty. Next y...

Re: Goodbye Hunter Dickinson

Honestly I think getting KJ off the floor some more will help hunter and our offense a ton. Clemence and storr playing some of those minutes at the 4 will open the court up a lot when KJ rests

Re: Goodbye Hunter Dickinson

Was it all hunter's fault we sucked last year? No. We didn't have the best pieces to compliment his game. But the biggest impact he had on our teams wasn't impacting our success. He changed the way we played, we played slower, our offense struggled more than usually, and our defense was nowhere near...

Re: Goodbye Hunter Dickinson

Last few seasons 21-22: 34-6 (14-4) 22-23: 28-8 (13-5) 23-24: 23-11 (10-8) In hunter's one season here, KU had the worst results of the bill self era. This team had the fewest wins, most losses, worst winning % (total number of games per season vary slightly, but this past team was worst in all cate...

Re: Goodbye Hunter Dickinson

We won games early in the season because nobody knows what the hell they are doing yet and we had 4 really good starters that found a way As teams gelled, we got exposed as having awkward pieces and playing in a good conference, teams found ways to beat us much more regularly than we are used to Mcc...

Re: Goodbye Hunter Dickinson

Back 2 Lawrence is right. Hunter has good skills, but does he impact winning?? So far he hasn't really

Last season we built around hunter (poorly) and our play style was one of the worst team products I've seen in awhile. Subpar defense and a slower pace offense that struggled to score at times

Re: Goodbye Hunter Dickinson

Self needs to figure out what to do on D. Offense doesn't matter if you can't defend the pick and roll. Three final four teams last season seemed to have it figured out - how to defend with an immobile center. Just because they had big centers doesn't mean they are immobile. Clingan is projected to...
