Re: California gets what they voted for

Let's add "states rights" to the endless list of vacuous slogans masquerading as principles, like "fiscal responsibility", "family values", "law and order party", et al., that conservative republicans repeat ad nauseam but only care about when they aren't in ...

Re: California gets what they voted for

If california is so great why are there so many that feel the need to invade other areas. Yall are like missionaries. We dont want what youre preaching. By your own logic then, what is it to you if we decide to tax something or not? We have rejected what you are preaching - (ostensibly) low taxes, ...

Re: California gets what they voted for

California has a $15 billion budget surplus and about $14 billion in our "rainy-day fund". Despite apparently-high taxes our economy is booming (and of course we have the related problems of extremely heavy traffic and high cost of housing, and resulting high homelessness). We voted overwh...

A majority of the current members of the House and Senate know this, and do nothing. What a country!

I disagree with your characterization of “Orin Hatch throws Hail Mary in last ditch effort to take Spineless Congressional Career Hypocrite Award away from Paul Ryan” No one can take that away from Paul Ryan because he is forever enshrined in the Career Hypocrite Hall of Fame - Deficit Peacock Wing....

The family values crowd will react as they should: Nobody is perfect. We elected someone who understands and embraces our values, even if he can't live up to them, as opposed to someone who openly maligns and denigrates both them and us. Thanks for this one, I lol’d out loud! Me too. Funny stuff. D...

Re: i wonder what Robert Mueller is thinking

Kamala Harris has voted 15% of the time "with" Trump, Bernie 11% and Elizabeth Warren 10%....so there is a great deal of salt to be taken with analysis. It's not exactly a profile-in-courage to vote with the 98 on a 98-2 vote requiring Trump to comply with Russia sanctions (I wonder who th...

Re: i wonder what Robert Mueller is thinking

Holy dumbassery, Batman! Conservatives should vote with libreals...cuz Trump! No! Obviously you don’t get the broader point. No one is questioning the concept of conservatives not voting with liberals. This is exactly why the likes of Sasse and Flake are weasels. In fact I think people like Cornyn ...

Re: i wonder what Robert Mueller is thinking

Isn’t Sasse the guy who acts like a critic but has voted lock-step with Trump like 90 percent of the time? 90? Where do you get that? I can’t think of any instance where Sasse (or Corker, or any of the alleged “critics” for that matter) voting not in lock step, DC’s lulzing notwithstanding. The onl...

Re: i wonder what Robert Mueller is thinking

Ben Sasse is exactly like Flake in that at least he will grandstand and talk a good game but crumble like a pile of ashes when it comes to actually doing something. Flake has acted on his outrage exactly once. Everyone is a combined 0-fer

Re: i wonder what Robert Mueller is thinking

This is the moment in history where current Republican office holders can demonstrate to the world if they value decency and rule of law over blind party loyalty.

Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell have already made their choice. Is there any decent Republican left in office?

Can someone explain what the guy did that caused himself to be a target by the saudis? I read that to mean why is Trump the target of Saudi leverage (ie. money laundering, blackmail, compromat etc).....and the answer would be quite simple: low IQ, greed, poor money management skills, hubris. But th...

"Occam's Razor" would explain that Gowdy and Goodlatte are pulling this stunt on Comey and Lynch because they are a$$holes, and want to be enshrined in everyone's memory as such. Or, as DC is showing us, we can all be enlightened on the meaning of the phrase "Pretzel Logic".

It's not a lack of trust. It's his desire to grandstand. That's tough to do behind closed doors. Seriously? Comey did not ask to testify, especially to a lame duck House. This whole thing begins and ends with the grandstandiest of the grandstanders, and the lamest of the ducks, Gowdy and Goodlatte.

That's how insurance companies make a profit. Pick and choose who to insure based on various risk factors, take in more than goes out in medical bills....when they're forced to take on high risk individuals then they have no choice but to pass that added cost onto the other people they insure via h...
