Re: COVID-19 numbers

But that's always been the case. A recession was being predicted since mid-2019, but you can't actually call it a recession until it is one. Fine, you can wait for the government to "officially" call it a recession. I'll look at what is actually happening in society and plan accordingly. ...

Re: COVID-19 numbers

It was an ill-advised (and ill-fated) attempt to push the pain beyond November 3. Yes, and we're all going to pay a big price for it in some way or another. Not sure what that will look like exactly, but it should concern everyone. How screwed up is it that every administration we have now wants to...

Re: COVID-19 numbers

The point was, we were obviously heading into a recession in March (even before covid started, the writing was on the wall) and people like Steve Mnuchin were telling us "recession is not coming". He's a total idiot and no one with any intelligence would believe him. @two, Again, I was ta...

Re: COVID-19 numbers

It depends on where you are, I think. Out here in California, there were many businesses that were not allowed to remain open. Fortunately now, things have changed.

Re: COVID-19 numbers

I'll tell you what was also really screwed up. Our government allowed big companies like Wal Mart to stay open during the pandemic, but they wouldn't allow small mom-and-pop businesses to remain open. I don't think the government should get to decide which businesses are essential.

Re: Dumbfuck in charge

jb will likely get my vote. Not because I like him. But because I do not believe he can last 4 years. And if by chance he does, no way he gets a second term. I am very interested in who jb selects as his vp. That's a good point, and I have considered it. If he chooses Harris, ugh... have to go 3rd ...

Re: COVID-19 numbers

You can't convince the Walruses and HD's of the world. They believe their sources, which to the logical mind would refute because of lack of reputation/credibility, and will stick to them. It's like trying to a convince a child that a monster isn't real after they read a scary book/watched a scary ...

Re: COVID-19 numbers

It's definitely rocked our country in a way we haven't seen in our lifetime. 50+ million unemployed, many jobs are not coming back, we may still have 20-30 million unemployed even in 2021. We've had massive money printing like we've never seen. To make things worse, we've had protests and riots bas...

Re: why the greatest economy ever...

As far as your being back, it's all good to me. I may not agree with you and you may annoy me at times but hey- the same could be said of my mother - and I love her more than anyone else on the planet. I'm glad to hear it. Yes, I'm thinking we might not argue about this issue, because I don't think...

Re: why the greatest economy ever...

That's all well and good, and it's possible you could have spoken with more people than I. But that doesn't necessarily mean your arguments are correct. There's very little evidence if any that racism is holding anyone back in America in 2020. It's just a lot easier to blame our own problems on a bo...

Re: COVID-19 numbers

Good Lord Phd, calm down man. We can discuss these different opinions peacefully. We don't have act like a bunch of hysterical women. Says the guy calling anyone who takes the virus seriously "hysterical". Where did I say that? That wasn't what I said or my intention. I think everyone sho...
