Re: 2024/2025 Lineup

It's nice after the mass exodus we had last year. Maybe this thing is going to go in cycles.

Re: 2024 CBB Offseason

Well, Pope can coach basketball, but unfortunately that is not the whole job at the UK circus.

Re: 2024 CBB Offseason

Really, Cal was one of the few guys that could handle all the PR BS that comes with that job.

Yes. I think I'll take experience over potential on that one.

Watch KJ show up next fall with a semi respectable junpshot
If he could just get proficient with a 10-15 footer it would be huge.

Re: 2024/2025 Lineup

Competition for starters is good. It means we could actually have a productive bench and not be decimated if someone gets injured.

Re: 2024/2025 Lineup

Not sure why we're pursuing Poplar when we're already loaded with guards. No activity on getting another big which I think would be more important for depth at this point.

Plus high hopes for freshmen that turned out not to be ready for prime time.

Re: Goodbye Hunter Dickinson

Maybe we have better defensive pieces to put around him this time. I guarantee Bill will be working and tweaking all summer to come up with a scheme that works.

Better shooters will also help on O.

Re: 2024/2025 Lineup

Love it. Now I expect Brea to go to UConn and light it up, which will make me puke. But I still prefer the all around player that Griffen is. I would like to see one more big though.

Re: 2024/2025 Lineup

I think we should hear about Griffen shortly. Brea is a great specialist but Griffen is more versatile and plays defense. Seems like more of a Self kind of guy. Great if we get both. 50% from 3 at volume is nothing to sneeze at. I guess the Timberlake experiment makes me a little nervous about it.

Re: Season Grades

The team made claims that they were playing for the post season. Lost day 2 of the Big 12 tournament and in the second round of the NCAA tournament, both in embarrassing fashion. F. Harsh B2L. I understand we have a higher standard to meet but are we judging according to the stated goal of the team...

KJ averaged 4.6 rebounds. No reason he shouldn't be able to up that to at least 7 if he chooses to focus on it.

Most players here improve on defense as Bill will insist. You want to play in the league you need to learn to play D.

I'm thinking Furphy will stay in the draft. Would love to have him back but NBA loves upside and he has a big one.

What I like about Griffen is he's a proven player against P5 competition. Wouldn't surprise me if Uconn lands Brea.
