Re: 7 things that stand out in KenPom's preseason college basketball rankings
It's definitely going to be way more about team defense and positioning, and less about individual standout defenders. That said, except when Moore's in, the length should be an advantage at just about every position, all the time.
Re: Mahomie
Absolutely. And those guys being able to play bigger roles should help keep Houston as close to 100% as possible once he's back. I'd rather have 95% of Houston, like, 50% of the time, than 50% of Houston 95% of the time.

Re: Salute to Service
Those look terrific. Dumb question - why just WWII?
Re: Mahomie
Ford has made it so that, when Houston returns, he won't be the center of attention.
And Mahomes has made it so that Houston, Berry and Sorensen can return on their own timetables.

Re: pre-season top 25 polls
Virginia is Bill before his small-ball, fast-paced, embrace-the-three revelation. They might well be the "best" team over the course of a season, but their shit is highly vulnerable to bad March results.
Re: Mahomie
Because our defense is one of the worst in the NFL and the Pats always get dramatically better as the season goes on. Well, there is a lot of room in "worst in the NFL." If the Chiefs have the, I don't know, 20th-worst defense by playoff time I'll feel ok! Certainly the last few weeks hav...
Re: Mahomie
I think the AFC Championship game should be the goal this season. Anything beyond that is gravy Big scheme of things, yes. But then you get there, and you see a very flawed team across from you (whoever it ends up being), and maybe you've already beat the Rams, or they've already lost, and you star...
Re: Mahomie
Pats don't break the rules Fish! No penalties! Perfect team, top to bottom! Well here's the thing - I think that (honestly not unlike Duke, or West Virginia in a way) it's not so much that the Patriots break the rules on a game to game basis, it's that they're exceedingly great at knowing exactly h...
Re: Mahomie
Looking ahead level of difficulty: v/@ Rams - toss up in Mexico City - will be tough @ Seattle - I wouldn't count out Russell Wilson at home v Chargers - We own Rivers but they are a talented football team v Baltimore - strong defense, have a deep threat and possession receiver @ Cleveland - team i...
Re: Mahomie
On Berry...@Raiders after the bye seems about right. I don't think they would make a weird game in Mexico City his return week. Between the altitude and unknown field conditions, that just doesn't seem like an ideal situation. And I don't see it happening before then. If unknown field conditions ar...
Re: Mahomie
He’s not a bad fit in packages designed to stop the run. He’s really only a viable option if Hitchens is really out, though, because he won’t help on special teams.
Re: Mahomie
I think he'll definitely be back, barring some setback. They wouldn't preserve the hyper-valuable return-from-IR spot for him if not.

Re: Jawhawks in the NBA
This is not an excuse for Josh, because he's got to fix this, but Phoenix is not a good environment for Josh. I think his temperament is better suited to a good team.

Re: NBA 2018
And more lol@cleveland. This time football related. Has to be the dumbest sports city in the country with regards to ownership & GM’s I mean, the sheer volume of dumbness afforded New York by virtue of having so many trash organizations - Mets, Knicks, Nets, Giants, Jets - is hard for any small...

Re: Shoe money trial
It’s also very possible that we’d prefer the NCAA not to look into it anymore.
