Re: Behind QT

I think he's a sweet and good guy, who has been drawn into (and is now pot-committed to) corners that aren't good places to be.

Re: NBA draft

Bron, in defending Caitlyn Clark yesterday, linked her to Bronny, complaining about people trashing Bronny when he's "just a kid trying to live out his dreams" or somesuch. His tone-deafness is just astounding. I don't believe in "shut up and dribble," but I do think that Bron ha...

Re: We Lost the Battle for the Republican Party’s Soul Long Ago

every presidential election of this century has been cheated on and stolen in some fashion. that's just the way it is. how we are going to change that, i don't know. it's just something we have to live with. We will certainly have to live with it for as long as people like you are successfully cond...

Re: The Travel Thread

your top 5 places in the US to live/have a home...thats a good question. I'm no order 1. somewhere in Alaska (this should take up 2 spots, one for coastal ish and one for interior) 2. upper Montana near the kootenai/glacier 3. NW Wyoming near cody 4. somewhere vaguely in the 4 corners area....I don...

Yes, to both of you. He cheated to win in 2016, and then lied about both the cheating and also the win itself. He cheated to try to win in (and in the run-up to) 2020, and then lied about both the cheating and also the loss itself. He took the cheating and the lying so far as to, particularly throug...

Re: Charges

And I'm not done with what else this nonsense means. Guys, if you think the FBI's standard rules of engagement applied as a means of opening the door to a weaponized government assassination of Trump...then would you have preferred those rules NOT applied to the execution of the search warrant? Of c...

Re: Charges

I think there's an undercurrent of far right sickness that is being overlooked in this buffoonery: Trump Claims the FBI Wanted to Kill Him. Fox News Ran Wild With It. After Donald Trump accused President Joe Biden of ordering federal law enforcement to use “deadly force” on him during 2022’s Mar-a-L...

Evidence there is a God, and s/he's a Democrat? Don Lewis @DonLew87 Judge Merchan is assigned to Steve Bannon's criminal case in New York. Robert Costello - who Judge Merchan lambasted in Trump's criminal trial - is Bannon's lawyer. Costello stepped in after another lawyer quit when Bannon suggeste...

Re: 2024

56% of Americans say the US is in recession, which it isn't, but that's a technical term, and maybe some mean "things are expensive." But 49% thinking the stock market is down when it's way up, and 49% that unemployment is at a 50-year high when it's near a 50-year low, is crazy. https://...

On the other hand, you get at least the majority of your news from Fox News.

Re: The Travel Thread

Then just go on a kid friendly all-inclusive at one location. Why do you want to be on a boat for over half your experience? Hard pass. Short answer is that the kid-friendly all-inclusives we have been to don't have enough to keep the older kids (or, for that matter, the adults) entertained. When I...

Re: The Travel Thread

But I want all-inclusive (for the kids anyway) for mostly my own sanity - I do not want to have to think about every half-drank $14 slushie by the pool, etc. think of them as streaming services. only order the ones you know you'll watch. I know that doesn't work with kids, but it should. Exactly - ...

You wouldn't have to be locked in if you rented a car. Tulum area has history, cave diving, snorkeling, awesome city in Playa del Carmen. Or if even more adventurous, head to Costa Rica, they have numerous all-inclusives there. I've done all-inclusives at DR and in the Bahamas but I don't recommend...

I also think the Rivians are a bit of an eyesore. very much. and apparently they only come in silver....ive seen like 15. everyone the exact same color. why can't we get just normal looking "advanced" vehicles I'm getting targeted offers for Rivian leases that are specific to that silver ...

Re: We Lost the Battle for the Republican Party’s Soul Long Ago

i don’t think taking the high road with mtg would matter one bit as evidenced by the look on greene’s face, Crockett did a good job putting her in her place generally i’d agree with 99, but not in this case I'm mixed. I love the idea of taking the high road; it's what I teach my kids to do, and wha...

An overcrowded ship of steerage vacationers passing germs back and forth whilst realizing there is no way off and they are in the middle of the ocean. Such fun. Like I said, not at the top of my list. But I want all-inclusive (for the kids anyway) for mostly my own sanity - I do not want to have to...

Re: The Travel Thread

Anyone taken a Royal Caribbean cruise? Not very high on my list, but it’s looking like the line-of-best-fit for a winter break trip given my kids’ ages and Mrs. Fish’s and my desire for more variety than a single all-inclusive.
