Re: next soccer question

Sporting KC's 2019 schedule is out. Only 3 mid-week league home games so it's pretty friendly for fans who come from other parts of Kansas to games.

Re: Bama V Okie

Yeah they still would have lost because their defense couldn't get a stop when they really needed one. But it feels like Riley didn't make the most of the chances he actually did get.

Re: Bama V Okie

Lincoln Riley coached that second half like David Beaty. Kicking a field goal when he was inside Alabama's 10, then multiple times kicking the extra point instead of going for two to get the lead down to 10. I would have been furious if I was an OU fan.

Got a verbal today from the above-mentioned Ezra Naylor Jr.

Re: Offensive and Defensive Coordinators

That's the impression I got when I looked back at his career numbers. Wow it feels weird having a legit coaching staff so far.

Re: Offensive and Defensive Coordinators

Sounds like he was tired of Malzahn meddling in the offense at Auburn. I like this hire.

Re: next soccer question

The good news is there's not long to dwell on the loss. CONCACAF Champions League draw is tonight.

The game would have been over whenever the play was dead.

Because of that I thought that we might have a decent chance of beating KSU in November. Not any more.
Talent wise, this team seems to have the talent to compete with/beat KSU, Iowa State, and possibly TCU. Terrible coaching won't allow that to happen though.

Re: Doug Meacham Fired

I have to think with what we've seen the last couple weeks, Beaty and Meacham were not getting along. Plus, these stats show a situation where the offense was actually improving. Now that may not be through play calling and design and might have more to do with talent (like Pooka) but still. Here's ...

I know the play calling hasn't been great but I feel like it's going to get a whole lot worse.

KU just announced on Twitter. Beaty takes over play-calling.

Re: Will Beaty’s successor...

The LB coach Miller has been good on every staff he's ever been on. He's the only one I'd keep on that side of the ball.

I think the only other coach on this staff I would accept keeping is Tony Hull.

Re: Carter Stanley

Good point.

Also, wouldn't we just be better off rolling with Stanley and turning to Bender if absolutely necessary and just redshirting Kendrick? Why burn a year of eligibility and let him start fresh with a new coach next year.

Re: Carter Stanley

Maybe Bender looks amazing in practice which is why he usually starts. But Stanley has proven he deserves a shot by his game performance. Hopefully he doesn't have to worry about being pulled vs. West Virginia.

Carter Stanley

Of all the things Beaty has screwed up over the last four years, the lack of stability at quarterback due to his pea-brained indecisiveness has to be the worst, right? Carter Stanley just played the best game any QB has played during the Beaty era (75% completion percentage, 3 TDs, 0 turnovers) and ...

Re: My List of HC Candidates

Solid list! Bo Pelini is always someone I thought of as a dark horse that I wouldn't mind being at KU. If Nebraska is crazy enough to fire coaches after 9 win seasons, they deserve to see how bad things can get. Rumblings after the Nicholls loss seemed to be that Jeff Long's coaching search would fo...

70% chance of rain in Waco. Maybe that plays in the 'Hawks favor by running the ball.
