I’m still not in love with the weave but it certainly works a lot better when you have AA small guards that can shoot 50% from 3.
Exactly. Which is why it sucks that Dotson is our first 5* PG in a long time...the rest have all been diamonds in the rough that were developed. Really hope the success of Mason, Graham, and now Dotson opens the door for us. Especially knowing that if Self had his druthers we'd play two of those guys together most of the game.

But we've had a glut of high profile wing recruits recently and I'm wondering if we haven't quite optimized their talent.
I only came to kick some ass...

Rock the fucking house and kick some ass.

I think Grimes, like McLemore, and not like Wiggs, Oubre, Jackson, is just such a prototypical 2 guard and lacks length and rebounding like wings have.

I think the next step for Bill’s evolution is taking 3/4 hybrid wings and playing them at the 4 like Jackson. He and the NBA want the 3/4 to be interchangeable. Just don’t think Grimes is that guy.

As for the blue chip PG’s, Dotson is a wonder for us. Hope he has the impact on the recruiting trail that Selby was supposed to.

yeah grimes is a more point guard than forward. hes a prototypical 2 guard who needs to polish his ball handling/playmaking/floor general skills to succeed at the next level

We win a ton and are normally fun to watch. I dont care about the particulars of what he runs if he checks those two boxes to be honest.

So, you’d be ok with Tony Bennett?

No thanks.

Sweet. Maybe they’ll break the 60 point barrier against the 16-seed this time.

I think they'll get lucky an avoid the dreaded 1 seed this year.

No. His teams do not check the "and are normally fun to watch" box that I listed.

Dropped from lotto to 30th pick in the latest Mocks.

While I think he takes great strides this month (no school improvement December), I’ll take a 2nd year too.
I am, I said.

I’d take a 2nd year for sure, but that means his entire freshman campaign ended up a big stinker.

Even if dude turns it on for just 6 or so games this March and shoot right back up the boards, and I’d be totally cool with that too.

I don't feel like, absent injury, Grimes is really the type to change his plans.
