Which also means it probably has nothing to do with his appeal....or some type of injury, either.
Or the more optimistic take would be that it's good news, but they don't want to report it until it's verified, or something.

The most logical thing I can think of is that the backup plan is Europe (or elsewhere), not G League.

It wouldn't surprise me if visas are a complicating factor, given the present state of things.

My first thought was they got good news on the appeal. He said he would come back if it went his way.

No reason to turn down the g-league combine. What if he wow'd them.

If there were good news about the appeal, I'd think we'd hear that pretty quickly.

We love SDS. We see all that he could be. To the NBA right now, he's an average frame, an above-average athlete and well-below-average experience. I could understand if he's barely a whisper on someone's breath.

For sure. He was all that two weeks ago when he declared.

He got invited to the g-league combine. What does he have to lose by going? Nothing.

Something has changed.

Most likely, yes. There's also, sometimes, wisdom in not putting yourself out there to be judged until you're ready to put your best foot forward.

Pretty sure that if SDS loses his appeal that he could sign on with a G League team with little effort. Attending a G League combine seems like a waste of effort. Having one at all seems like a way to justify employees and business trips rather than an actual useful, necessary exercise.

What does he have to lose? Lots. Ask Brandon Rush what could be lost in a sketchy tryout scenario.

I don't think sds is in any position to be turning down opportunities. Here in the U.S. anyways.

Maybe he has opportunities in his hip pocket across the pond.

Better not ever work out in the off season if that's your big worry. Dok's 2 season ending injuries happened in practice. Should every practice be non-contact?

You asked what he has to lose. I answered. Frankly, what does he gain from this combine that he can't get in an individual workout? Not much. I tend to believe that individual workouts are more productive than a meat market mass combine.

That's a better reason than using a fluke injury from 12 years ago that could literally happen any time you step on a court as your defense.

Thank you for sharing that. Looks like it's the NBA or Kansas for DeSousa. He doesn't want to mess with the G League. We are all hoping it's KU!
