Just heard Bowen is staying on staff as the Safeties Asst Coach...any truth to that rumor?

If he is, we should fire him simply for accepting that position.

I've seen the same.

I'm ok with it. Keeps the local connection, the current Free State players that are being recruited like him. Was the Safeties coach during Orange Bowl season. Won't be calling the shots on defense, will just be coaching a position that he played and played well.

I don't hate Bowen as much as many do, so it doesn't really bother me, but why would he accept that job? Go somewhere else, get a fresh start. The returning players see you go from DC and Assistant HC to a position coach...not even DB coach, but safeties coach.

I like Bowen and wish him the best, but this seemed like a good time for both parties to split.

I know he has connections to Lawrence, and I love Lawrence too, but man sometimes you gotta spread your wings and fly away.

Maybe Bowen bleeds Crimson and Blue? I don't see any problem with this whatsoever.

I’m not mad at keeping Clint as the safeties coach. He knows his stuff.

Everyone agrees keeping Hull was a smart move from a recruiting standpoint.

I think keeping Bowen was probably a smart move from a local legend/relationship/donors standpoint. I think he will help with Kansas/metro recruiting. I would like to think that he could lead a quality defense if they could play less than 75% of the game. Heck I think he might do better with some of recruits that might come around now also. But Bowen taking a lower level position shows he wants to stay around which we all knew. Maybe he coaches for a few years and then moves into a fundraising type roll.

Now who is the last coach and who is going to lead the SC staff? I don't know if we have enough evidence on the current SC staff but if they could get Chris Dawson I think it would be a good get.

So we have what three on staff at position coaches that held coordinator roles at other schools? That’s not bad.

10 months before the season starts and already it’s fun just to read and think about it.

I won't lie that it is a tad unsettling to see Auburn's offense, minus Chip Lindsey be at 63 points with time to go in the 3rd quarter against a Big 10 team.

I do think it means that Lindsey and Malzahn had a lot of issues, and that effected the team's performance this year, but still, not a good look.

After talking more to the people I know in ASU’s program, I’m not particularly excited about Lindsey.

But, he’s still an upgrade.

Weird considering his offense the first month or so of the season at Arizona State was damn good.

But someone who was involved with Auburn’s program indirectly mentioned on twitter that both Lindsey and Malzahn had styles they wanted to run, offense ended up being a blend of the two and it wasn’t a good match.

Lindsey expected to be named HC at Troy. So Les has to hire a new guy.
