Well, as discussed on DOTNET ( RIP ), it depends on the contract you hand out to Mahomes.
Of course you need to pay the guy if he continues what he's doing but man, you can really strap yourself for cap room with a big overpay.

Which is what most organizations are going to have to do. You need a franchise QB, the rest of the parts for the most part are interchangeable. In 3 years or less there will be another running back to replace Kareem Hunt for a lot cheaper. They FINALLY have a QB, or at least every indication they'll have a QB, so if they keep drafting and replacing the other players they will be set.
