If it looks like another Dem is going to win the oval office, be sure to buy up stock in gun manufacturing companies. With no boogieman coming to get them, their stock prices are down. They'll be looking to ramp up sales once that "threat" exists again.

And yea. Can't impulsively jump off a bridge or a building or drive a car off a cliff etc. Damn gun just hopped out of of the closet and killed the guy.

Side note. Watched a guy jump off a building next to one I was working on. Watched him land, watched the ambulances and cops pick up the literal pieces. We should probably ban buildings. Or at least eliminate stairs and elevators.
Ugh, we're once again back to overly dramatic leaps of logic.

Just because a change will not eliminate all possibility of a gun crime doesn't mean it won't help. We need a national registry of guns so we know where they all are and so gun owners are accountable for their weapons. We need better screening of gun purchasers. We need secondary guns sales to require the same amount of scrutiny as purchases done if new weapons at a licensed dealer. We need one centralized "not eligible to purchase a firearm" database so that all states are on the same page. And ALL gun sales should be required to bump up against that database.

The list goes on and on. But none of these common sense things will happen because the NRA tells their membership that putting their name in a gov't database just tells them where to go when the Gov't wants to seize all their guns and take over the country (an actual argument made repeatedly by an NRA member coworker).

Breaking news, your AR-15 isn't going to keep the government from eradicating you if that ludicrous scenario played out. This isn't 1776. Some 18 year old in a drone pilot building on some base somewhere can wipe your existence off the planet without you ever knowing it is happening. The notion that people need to arm themselves to defend themselves from the government is as dumb as it gets.
Short version for TDub. Just like when Obama was in office, them libtards is coming for your guns!
So because I hunt, recognize guns for the tool that they are and understand that we cant blame guns for deficiencies in our society I apparently speak hillbilly and am incapable of understanding your cohorts highly intellectual conversation. Got it.

Well, I’m not sure you’re fully recognizing guns for the tool they are if you don’t also recognize how dangerous they can be - much more so than your average garden rake or monkey wrench.

And no we can’t blame guns for the deficiencies in our society, but we can blame guns for escalating deficiencies in our society into much bigger problems than they have to be.

And hunters are a considerable demographic among gun owners, but the overall gun culture seems defined much more so by paranoia and stubborn entitlement.

I was thinking the same thing. Majority of people who hunt in this country are not doing it out of necessity. People who hunt in this country often take pride and pleasure in killing a living being.
Seems kind of sick to me. I don't like sick people owning guns. Who would?

This is an ignorant take but that's ok, expected from a big Chicago cityman.

Insults, insults, insults. Great argument you make. Hey - whatever works for you.
Thanks for showing me and others that you're incapable of having a civil discussion without insulting those who think differently than you do.

P.S. I don't own a gun. Feel no need for one. Why would I need one? No desire for one. Why would I have a desire to own one? No interest in killing living things I don't need to kill - and taking pleasure in doing as such. Why would I?
Perhaps people such as yourself and others who label me "sick" should be happy I don't own a gun nor have a desire to own one. Right?
I mean it's people like me who go and shoot innocent people - and bullies.

Keep in mind he posted the nastiest thing I've seen on this or any KU message board. But he claims he's the victim of bullying and wants a civil conversation. Sure.

You were having a civil conversation with ousdahl, you're not going to get that with gutter.

I said hunting seems kind of sick to me. It's my opinion. You don't like it. I get it.
You insulted Geezer and then you chose to insult me - because we feel differently than you.

I posted something I didn't realize was authentic. As soon as I realized the error of my ways I immediately deleted it and showed genuine remorse. I apologized to you and others numerous times. You continued to send me nasty private messages and give pdub shit. Now you are choosing to continue to harp on it. Once again, I apologize to you and anyone else whom I offended with my post. What more would you like for me to do? Other than kill myself?

Hunting is sick? Whatever, but venison is really delicious. Maybe there is another way to keep deer from over populating, but I'm not sure how.

I completely understand over populating. I don't understand people taking pleasure in killing the animals. Yes, I feel it's kind of (if not completely) sick when people take pleasure in killing a living being. "Whatever" indeed.

Do the deer get a vote on the over population number?
