Honest to Gaia, I know some very talented speech writers who would be willing to help, but he's so fucking stubborn.

It's kinda cute but kinda telling that every one of your posts on this subject is about how it affects you personally.
That is not an accurate statement. Regardless, this is what is going on in my life, just as with everyone else.

It was probably in your link that you replied to me with on the hoops board, but I read that the test kit shipping out soon was created in 9 days after the FDA finally got serious and cut the red tape.

That should make everyone furious.

Why not just ask the South Koreans how to do it.

WHO posted open-source German procedures and even made their own fucking tests, that they shipped worldwide.

Was reading tonight about a patient in Lincoln, NE. Swabbed for influenza (negative) and coronavirus. Doctor told him FOUR DAYS FOR RESULTS (shipped off to North Carolina).

Fucking UNMC has the world's premier bio-containment unit. And yet they can't even run a fucking test.

So goddamn stupid.

I think the new tests are 8 hours and the tests in Korea are 5 hours.

Should have had those weeks ago.

South Koreans running 20,000 tests per day. We haven't run that many yet.

Well I think DC nailed it when he said that the best thing that can happen is to get someone inside the White House or someone who has been in the White House to test positive.

I'm thoroughly humiliated to be a physician and watch how incredibly inept our health care "system" is in its response to the pandemic. There will be consequences, not only in morbidity and mortality, but in the strains this puts on our society, especially on those with the least ability to handle it. It's bad enough how lame we look to the rest of the world, but the doctor/patient relationship is based on trust, and this is doing nothing but degrading that trust.

Please watch this video to see how another country is responding, and ask yourself how likely we are to see similarly effective measures, when/if the rate of infections continues to climb like it is. (Please spare me the cultural, political, differences, I get that, that's why I said "similarly effective".) And if you don't particularly care for Rachel Maddow, you'll like that she doesn't do much talking.
