Volatility is a statistical measure of the dispersion of returns for a given security or market index. In most cases, the higher the volatility, the riskier the security. In the securities markets, volatility is often associated with big swings in either direction. For example, when the stock market rises and falls more than one percent over a sustained period of time, it is called a "volatile" market. An asset's volatility is a key factor when pricing options contracts...

Imagine the following scenario: You pay $500 today and commit to receiving a hooker at your house in 15 days because your wife will be traveling. This is called a Futures Contract.
Unfortunately, lockdown came and you are locked down with your wife at home for the next 60 days. This is called “now you are fucked,” and you cannot fulfill the escort company's Futures Contract.
So now you do not want this woman to show up at your house at all, and try to find anyone of your friends to pass off this futures contract, any neighbours or, anybody. But you find no takers because now everybody is under lockdown with their wives and families. You find you cannot sell this hooker commitment because nobody can take delivery of the girl, and there is no where to stash her. Nobody can receive the hooker at home anymore. Everyone is in full storage.
To make matters worse, not even the pimp (Chicago Mercantile exchange) who sold you the hooker contract has more room to receive girls because his house is full of girls out of work under lockdown.
So now you will have to pay anyone just to take the girl off your hands. So someone tells you I will take the girl off your hands but you pay me $37 to do it.
This is called negative price when you deliver the girl that cost you $500 to the willing buyer and pay him $37 to take delivery.
Got it? This in a nutshell is what happened to the Oil Futures Market last week.
No need to thank me….. 🤗

I assume someone posted this somewhere else but after doing a quick search I couldn't find it.

Pompeo's interview on ABC's This Week,......

"Look, the best experts so far seem to think it was man-made. I have no reason to disbelieve that at this point".

However, when Raddatz told him that this wasn't what the intelligence agencies believed, Pompeo began to change this story.

She said: "Your office of the DNI says that the scientific consensus was that the Covid-19 virus was not man-made or genetically modified".

Confusingly, Pompeo said that he agreed with that.

"That’s right. I agree with that. Yes. I’ve seen their analysis. I’ve seen the summary that you saw that was released publicly. I have no reason to doubt that that is accurate at this point".

Noticing that Pompeo had just contradicted himself, Raddatz asked him to clarify his stance on the issue.

"OK, so just to be clear, you do not think it was manmade or genetically modified"?

Rather than say that he did or didn't agree, Pompeo then goes back to blaming the Chinese Communist Party for the pandemic, contradicting himself yet again.

I've seen what the intelligence committee has said and I've no reason to believe that they have gotten it wrong".

Why don't those guys just go fuck their precious firearms and pull the fucking triggers.

I'm all for a protests, I understand why people are mad, in some cases they have valid points and I'm on their side. And even if I disagree with them, I sincerely want their voices heard. I'm not talking about them. They have every right to gather and protest.

But these fucking GI Joe wannabes compensating for tiny dicks who think they're cool and tough with their firearms and masks and whatever other bullshit they have on them. They can seriously go fuck themselves. They're hurting the cause they think they're supporting...and I don't think they care. I think they just view it as a chance to play dressup and let out some looser aggression.

I support the right assemble and the right to petition the gov't, etc. I even support the right to bear arms, but I've met too many of these assholes in non-pandemic times and they're among the worst humanity has to offer and that's even more true during a pandemic.

There are cultural, historical, and educational reasons for all of this. Mostly, it's based on a misreading of American history and conceptions of liberty, one that too many conservatives have played into over the last couple of decades.

I get it, it's Glen Beck telling people to get their pitchforks because Thomas Jefferson said we should periodically have revolutions.

I wish they were self-aware.

It's like the athlete who would be small enough to be a flyweight flexing his guns after a big play, not realizing that instead of looking strong, he's just showing the viewing audience that he has small muscles...only in this case it's not a game.

From Glenn Beck, to the rest of Fox News, all the way back to the inception days of Rush Limbaugh on the AM radio, conservative media has always always always told its audience they should be pissed off.

I wonder, if the knee-grow Muslim from Kenya was in office, do you suppose republicans would treat us to another 7 or 8 congressional investigations over a couple of years, and have the SoS come and testify for ~ 11 hours? I wonder if Faux Knews would be reporting that "Al Qaeda is back!".
