Royals intrasquad scrimmage on their Facebook page now. Can't see who is hitting or anything like that, camera is zoomed out in upperdeck so you can see everything. Just can't see close.

BASEBALL!

Scrimmages mean nothing, but Royals have Witt Jr at 3rd and Mondesi at SS.

Future left side of infield in KC.

You hope Witt fills out to having the sort of size (and power) required of a 3b. Otherwise, one of them ends up in CF.

Do the Blue Jays even have a field yet? Feels like they might be playing on a floating island in international waters at this point.

I'm definitely watching first few weeks. Hopefully they don't focus on the COVID aspect and just talk about baseball. If I have to see close up of those stupid cut outs, I'm done.

Are the Royals going to have a Marlins Man cutout behind the plate?

Who feels sorry for Dodgers that Kershaw is hurt?

No one. That’s what I would have thought.

What I realized watching baseball last night for 10 mins is that I don’t really care about watching baseball. At least not on TV. When it’s teams I don’t have an interest in.

Not sure how many echo this sentiment, but to me, baseball, meh.

I'm with you Gq.
If baseball was the first sport back, I would have watched it, but MLS beat it to the punch.
Baseball on TV is pretty damn dull on the sports scale.

Do I get emotionally invested? I do not.

But hot damn, is having a game on in the background (rather than news or like Bride of Cakezilla Toaster Oven Wars) nice.

That’s fair, fish, and I get it.

I do that too, and have been, with soccer for several years now. And being in mountain time zone, the euro games (and mls this last couple weeks) at 5-9 am are awesome.

It’s like when I lived in Hawaii and would watch football in the morning then go to the beach in afternoon.

But, to baseball, it’s just no longer remotely compelling to me. Perhaps I’m an old curmudgeon, and just despise the way analytics has supplanted how I learned the game many many years ago. But, k k k k k k HR k k k hr is by far the most boring sports presentation going.

I'd much rather tune into the 4th quarter of an ISU ksu football game than the last 2 innings of, say, White Sox v the Twins.

OK Mr. Most Boring Sports Presentation.

Actually, that description reminds me of the ESPY's.

I didn’t say it was most boring, just that it’s not compelling to me. Neither is KU-ISU football, as a rule. Guess both things can be true.

Baseball, though, ruined in last 10 years (it’s just an opinion) by analytics.

Get off my lawn.

And to ESPY’s, it’s usually a bad show. This year was particularly awful.
