Not really a fan of Garrett at the end until shooting improves.

Would rather have Charlie for ball handling and shooting.

Dotson
Moore
Grimes
Vick
D. Lawson

Moore knows his role

Garrett was trying too hard to score, it seemed.

Charlie looked lost to me. Garrett was good on D and made some good offensive plays in the second half. It hurt to watch him shoot it though.

Moore do anything tonight?

the OP lineup was our closers tonight.

And likely our closers from here on out.

Charlie will get minutes. He’s our backup small guard.

But I expect those other guys down the stretch most games.

Dok’s amazing within 3 feet but still can’t shoot free throws, which is especially an issue late.

That's our quickest team. We were up against a heavy-screening three-ball-shooting team. Hence that lineup. Might not be the same based on matchups. All about D.

So, credit to Bill for not fucking around with Devon like he has done so many times with freshmen. Particularly in 2014 w/ Frank and Connor. Devon plays really hard and is by far the best option at point.

Now Bill needs to use same handling with Q going forward. I get why he went with Garrett last night as we were down at half, but he has to coach his freshmen stud through it.

I think his "not fucking around with dotson" is more due to Moore not being very good, rather than a shift in philosophy....you're 2nd point about Q may be evidence of just that.

I don't ever want Garrett to take our 2nd most shot attempts in a game ever again. 13 shot attempts for him is about 8 too many. He should be layups/dunks or create for others and move the ball.

Nope, the old Bill would be playing Moore right now.

He played Steven fucking Vinson over Chalmers until the 2nd semester.

My guess is that Self yelled at Garrett at halftime to be more assertive and, while he tried, he just isn't able to do it successfully yet. Tough regular season games like this are a great chance for him to get reps trying to improve it. It was a little hairy last night but KU survived it and in the long run may be better off for it.
