Old Well
Old Well
Random question. I have an old well thay isnt used anymore. Tonight i walk by it and hear air rushing sound. Scrape the dirt off the oid pull the concrete slab lid. Sure enough air is being forcibly blown up through the two holes in the casing cap. Check the power going down to the pump and there is indeed no live power going to the pump. What in the hell could be causing air to be rushing out of the casing?

Re: Old Well
Im guessing since no power to pump i dont need to be too concerned. Cant be pumping water anywhere or anything too damaging. Right?

Try and find someone who drills water wells for a living to ask.

Throw a match at it and see if it's gas.

Well. The well quit spewing air. My best guess is the resevoir it is tapped into was filling with water feom the recent rains and pushing the air out. No idea if thats true though.
