Yes, but that could be a point for or against going to UT from Bama.

First one for sure, but second one seems pretty unique to UT and the reason why they are no longer a Top 5 football program when they absolutely should be one.
I don’t doubt it, but am not super familiar and now curious too.

What’s up with the egos at the Texas AD?

Should this go here or get a separate thread? Anyone think this would happen?

Search “Chris Beard Texas” over on Twitter and enjoy. The Tech fans grasping onto this guy is hilarious...

They aren't going to but if Texas offered Few 4X or 5X what Gonzaga is paying him would he take the job?

Look at USC and the west, as money dried up for traditional powers, magically all the talent went to the margins. Hmmm. I love Turg. I always wanted him back here. I get that most of you would think "meh," but he was the definitive Jayhawk who helped us rebuild. Loved his competitiveness.

Very smart move for him to take considering he was going to be fired in 2022 or 2023. Some programs just do not work for some coaches.

Lawrence native and 16-year Austinite here. I came to really love Shaka (even tho I was at the 2011 VCU loss) but I do think this has the potential to be a win-win for him and UT. If they don't land Beard tho, all bets are off.

In any case, UT opens a brand new stadium in 2022 and they need to breath some life into the program before then. In a very smart and un-Texas like move, the new on-campus arena will be basketball-centric and one of the smallest arenas in the Big 12 with about 10k capacity. I think it's gonna be awesome and, selfishly, I can't wait to watch ball in a great atmosphere again (it's hard to overstate how terrible Erwin is/was). The scarcity of seats will not only make for a better atmosphere but actually make it more popular. After all, Austin loves a line (see BBQ, Franklin).
