Hello there, long time no speak! ROFL
I had no idea the board moved...what a dumb name.
Anyway, thinking of coming into town for the KU/Nova game but it has been a looooong time since I've been. Any suggestions or general tips when picking a ticket? Keep in mind I am not willing to spend the 1k it likely costs to get close. I don't really care about that. I just want to make sure I don't pick the worst place in the gym to sit.

Re: Nova
The worst seat in AFH is still heads and tails above any seat in any basketball arena in the country. Can't go wrong...

LOL you crack me up. You're so over the top with everything.Lonestarjayhawk wrote: ↑Wed Nov 28, 2018 10:04 pm The worst seat in AFH is still heads and tails above any seat in any basketball arena in the country. Can't go wrong...
But yes, not really any bad seats, although I'm not a fan of GA sections behind the back boards. If I'm up high I prefer the corners.

one can hope

at least where my seats are, near the band, the corner gets unbearably crowded with all the fatties. not trying to be mean, but in the decade or so that we've had seats in this general area its become noticeably more crowded (and its not like more seats have been added)
but, the view is phenomenal...section 9, row 8

Oh ya the corners get super packed.....we always try to get there like an hour early and claim our real estate.TraditionKU wrote: ↑Thu Nov 29, 2018 8:09 amthe corners are great unless it's literally a packed houseIllinoisJayhawk wrote: ↑Thu Nov 29, 2018 7:21 amLOL you crack me up. For years we had season tickets in the same general spot up high in the corner.... there was always 1 guy who wore headphones the entire game, and literally screamed instructions to Self/our players and screamed criticisms to the refs. It was hilarious. Everyone would giggle at him....but it was also sort of annoying.
I remember being there in college for the mizzou game...some tiger fan wore a tiger mask and ran up and down the student section isle being obnoxious....well after about his 2nd or 3rd time up and down the bleacher isle he got snatched up, disappears into the student section, shortly after gets tossed back into the isle, but is missing his mask.....then a KU student stands on the bleachers and rips the mask in half and throws it....everyone went wild. Then security threw the mizzou fan out of the game i think, at least escorted him from the student section. It was hilarious.
Re: Nova
If you're buying on StubHub or another site, be wary of a deal that looks too good to be true. There are a couple corner sections where the rows numbered (for instance) 5, 6, 7 are actually 15, 16, 17 (because that section starts well above the floor. Also, if you find a super good deal in the southwest corner, it's probably behind the band, which is all kinds of un-good.hasbeen wrote: ↑Wed Nov 28, 2018 10:02 pm Hello there, long time no speak! Re: Nova
My other recommendation would be to shop around the various sites that all run on the same back end (Ticket Liquidator, Select-a-Ticket, Vivid Seats, on and on and one), and consider three things:
1. If you are a Southwest Airlines guy, you can get 2x-7x points by going through Rapid Rewards Shopping. Not a big deal if you're buying a can opener or something, but dropping several hundred bones on tickets means the multiple gets meaningful.
2. All those sites with the same back end ask you to put an email address in - get past that stage without buying tickets and close the window. Oftentimes, you'll get an email giving you a short-term coupon code for a decent chunk off.
3. Download a browser extension like Honey or WikiBuy and it will try a bunch of other coupon codes for you. Never know what you might find.
It's hard to do those second and third ones with #1, because the Rapid Rewards browser extension is supposed to be rendered ineffective if you use a coupon code not found on SWA's portal, but I've found that with enough trial and error (and a second browser window if necessary) you can in fact use codes and get points.
Source: I just did this this morning for my @UK tickets, which I got 3x points for (Ticket Liquidator) and also used a 15% code they sent me after closing a window. I do this dumb little dance for all high-dollar tickets I buy.
