I have never fully understood the Fran dislike. I do to an extent, but I think part of it is being overly sensitive. He's never made me feel like he's "anti-KU", just not as "pro-KU" as some (or as pro-KU as he used to seem before his kid went to a big 12 pho).

jfc...walton is just rambling
That's what he does.
I will say, it wasn't as bad as I expected tonight...so I'll give him some credit because I didn't go into the game with a very optimistic outlook of his announcing capabilities.
Fran thought Oklahoma should have won the game last night.
"Give Kansas some credit but Oklahoma missed shots - they are going to lament this loss."
Uh, OK Fran, Kansas missed a few shots ( that they'd more commonly make ) too.
He also was loosing his shit about Dedric Lawson and verticality.
What a guy.
I've been skeptical of the Fran criticism....until last night. Maybe I was looking for it more than usual since it was OU....but I noticed it.
It's not like he doesn't say positive things too, because he does....but there was 1 time where they were doing a "behind the play" or whatever the fuck they call it...and it was clear he was supposed to describe the offensive strategy/action/play, but instead he decided to abandon that and just say how KUs defense fucked up.
Imo, except when it's obvious, it's always better for the announcer to stick to positivity instead of negativity. It's better for the viewers from both teams. Say "good job knocking down the open 3" rather than "the defense gave up an open 3"....maybe that's over simplified .

Yup.
This is why I hated Billy Packer, it was the opposite.
