Have to say, sure I am surprised but I'm not really shocked.
Extremely poorly planned for tragedies like this. Early indicator was the rush for merchandise when the gates opened. Most people who have attended "festivals" would have realized right then and there, that the crowd control was horrendous and it was a dangerous place to be - with SOME of the "fans" who were in attendance.
May the innocent victims rest in peace.
