That seems to be a reasonable drop for losing a conference road game against a decent team.

I think a better argument can be made for TTU being ahead of us than MSU or Gonzaga.

Or maybe the better way to put that is, I'd have TTU ahead of both MSU and Gonzaga.

100% agree...MSU is not that great and neither is Gonzaga. TTU can flat out ball...they'll give us trouble both times we play them this year.

Now got 5 in the Top 25.

The league's metrics are good because all of the defenses rank well.

The scoring, however, is at an historic low for a major conference.

Wouldn't the low scoring be due to the good defenses? Or did defense go up just because teams all of a sudden forgot how to score?

I'm not exactly sure how KenPom does it, but the numbers I saw when I made that post were from the noncon. Essentially the offensive numbers that the big 12 teams were putting up in the noncon were figured into a record low season long projection for scoring by a single conference's members.

So should Michigan State, Vermont, Marquette, Tennessee, Wofford, New Mexico State, Villanova and Arizona State. Or every non con team but three that KU played.

I'm kind of surprised we didn't drop lower after getting our butt whipped by Tech. Well, at least the pressure is low this year. We could magically get to the final four, or we could lose in the 2nd round. This team was hit with the worst case of bad luck I've seen in Self's tenure. But even so, I still think we're as good as the 2009 team. 2005 is still the worst team (in Self's career) in my opinion.

This year's team has at least one thing in common with that team.

reminds me of something David Lawrence said after the tech game...1999 KU finished 5th, 5TH!!!

guess which frosh were part of that squad

can you imagine the meltdown, not just on here, but across most KU fans if we were looking at finishing 5th now?

We could still finish 5th.
There would most certainly be a meltdown if that happened.
