Re: Green New Deal
Simple question to all you conservatives: would you expend less fuel to accomplish a particular task or willingly expend more, because all the liberals tend be generally more fuel-efficient?
Given the way Republican administrations have resorted to borrow-and-spend, I am guessing frugality and efficiency is not one of conservatives' strong suits. You are probably the people who go on the GasBuddy app, select the most expensive location to fill up just to spite the liberals who want to stick it Big Oil

GOP: $20,495,624
Dems: $4,387,220
Coal mining, mining, waste management, electric companies, natural gas. All weighted heavily towards supporting GOP candidates. Because they would make more money at the cost of american lives.

So lazy.

Re: Green New Deal
It's a gross misinterpretation of the facts. Such laziness is how we get to this point of apathy and lack of holding politicians accountable.IllinoisJayhawk wrote: ↑Thu Jan 10, 2019 11:20 amyet so true.
It's a lazy attempt at a witty comeback that you think paints someone in a corner when in fact it's just a way to avoid the actual problem.

If you are really serious, then I hope you drive an electric car or at least a hybrid, or maybe ride a bike.TraditionKU wrote: ↑Thu Jan 10, 2019 9:07 am my mistake...cars, as we know them, have to go away

Re: Green New Deal
Do you think GOP took more from those interest groups than the Dems because the GOP hates the environment or do you think it's probably because those BigOil money groups are located predominately in GOP leaning areas?

maybe you should travel more, experience the world...
That's the point. Other parts of the world don't matter in the discussion of cars. Cars defined the last century and embodied (and still embody, in many cases) the American conception of freedom.
I think Kerouac was shit, but On the Road was the defining book of a generation. Steinbeck won a Pulitzer fro Grapes of Wrath, but didn't win his Nobel until after Travels with Charley. Cars are more a part of American history and culture than guns.

No. It can solve most of our problems when it produces economically viable products that can compete in a free(ish) market.TraditionKU wrote: ↑Thu Jan 10, 2019 8:37 am
human innovation is an amazing, wondrous thing. it can solve most any problem if only given the opportunity (if we can get out of our own way)
