Filled out my first bracket this morning. I have no confidence in us to do anything in the final four, but gosh this was a gift of a bracket.

(Pin this for when Iowa beats us 83-66.)

Sum of the kenpom ranking of the top 4 seeds in each bracket:

East: 30
South: 37
West: 42
Midwest: 99

Kansas got by far the toughest 5 seed but our 2, 3 and 4 are not challenging.

Auburn is very inconsistent, but when they're on they are very good.

I would say that about every team below Arizona on the seed listing.

(I think you'd have seen it in Gonzaga and Arizona, too, had they each played a big-kid-table schedule.)

Or if they played in a time zone where I watched their games quasi-regularly.

Playing Pepperdine and Cal and so on has a way of making your results look consistent, even if your play isn't.

Which might be exactly what you're saying!

After seeing the brackets, I certainly feel better about Kansas' chances to advance than I did a week ago. Lots of talking heads picking Iowa to advance to the Final Four in the Midwest but I don't think they should get more credit for a hot conference tourney week than Kansas does. KU played every bit as well as Iowa did in their last 3 games.

Iowa is good! About what you should expect to see in the Sweet Sixteen if you're the third #1.

Oddly, I think Baylor (the 1-4) got the softest 4/5 line.

UCLA beats Baylor if it comes to that game. But St Mary’s is an extremely weak 5 seed.

A nice drill down result page to look at tourney results with a ton of different sort options.
