I miss Dok. I don't miss that Dok/Dave lineup that was clunky and caused that late turnover against Duke. Glad we got away from it.

I do think we'll play Wilson, KJ and Clemence together at points.
But I don't think KJ will spend a lot of time on the wing, or not nearly as much as a Braun or Ochai.
Self will put him at places on the court to attack the basket, get lose rebounds, etc.

From what I expect from him, I'd call him a big, but it doesn't matter in the end, unless you need it as fodder for more message bored insults.

It's boot camp, so these guys are gassed, but we talked about Jalen being taller than KJ, but KJ might be effectively taller given the vast difference in bounce.

I’m going to need an advanced metric to evaluate that bounce.

That athleticism will be insane out on the wing.

KJ is a guard, not a wing. I saw him dribble from the perimeter and then throw an alley oop in a 5 second video.

No doubt. Probably one of the things I’m most interested in seeing is KJ’s improvement of his ball handling and shooting. I don’t expect a lot this season, but he could be a monster in 2023-2024.

Our defense is going to be the tits.

I don't expect and don't feel like we even need a lot from KJ in terms of scoring or playmaking, but I would not run him and Jalen out there together unless KJ is at the 5 and we run a lot of 5 out with those guys in. Get ready to run.

Yes! 5 out! Get ready to run!

at least, if that's our best lineup, even if only for stretches.

That stems from some greater scheme of, let's use our superior personnel to make opponents have to adjust their play to us, rather than the other way around.

and I agree we'll be good defensively.

But, as has been asked - who scores?

Jalen returns at 11ppg. Should see a bump in his numbers, but also somewhat difficult to see him as a featured piece of the offense, considering so much of his has come from garbage duty.

Zach might be best returning shooter, but also might end up spending much of his time on the block.

Gradey's the second coming of White Jesus, but also still only a freshie. Is it too much to expect double digit average?

Kevin's an experienced D1 vet, but if the trend continues of a guy's numbers diving as soon as he transfers here, dunno if he'll be filling up stat sheets.

Yes is a scorer trapped in an undersized PG's body, but he at least has the whole "Self luvs him some Napoleon complex bulldogs" thing going for him.

what's the over/under on sub-60 point games we're likely to see?

It's not difficult to me to see Jalen as our featured guy.
And I think Dick can average low double figures.
And Harris is going to surprise some haters I think.

so you think we'll run plays specifically for Jalen the most often, then?

As a spot up shooter?

as a "get him the ball going downhill" kinda look?

More the latter but some of the former.
I think he averages 15+.

i could see 6 guys averaging at or near double figures…stingy defense and balanced offense
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

Balanced attack, but probably a low scoring team (for us lately, anyway).

Unless Dick is ready for 15+ and Jalen significantly improves at getting his own shot. We've seen a lot of garbage stuff from him to this point--that's not meant to be a knock at all.
