Countries that were not always a country

Post by japhy »

The USA, it is a made up political construct that was an accommodation after many wars.

The USA was not always a country. Parts of it were owned by Spain and Britain and France. Is it legit, and wouldn't it reduce a lot of warring and stuff, if those parts of the USA that were part of other countries previously just were ceded back to their previous owners?
I saw the worst minds of my generation empowered by madness, bloated farcical naked,
dragging themselves through the whitewashed streets at dawn looking for a grievance fix.

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

If we do break up the American empire, should there be a chunk that becomes an internationally recognized Native American nation?
