Has there been any other case(s) where the NCAA has changed their ruling to reduce the penalty either through the appeals process or by a person/University suing the NCAA especially when no new information has been uncovered?

I don’t know if a lawsuit would be successful in time to reduce a suspension.

I do know that I’m not at all excited about the idea of adding a new game to the game, being the opaque appeal to the over the top suspension.

I hate all of this. Just let the players get money for name/image/likeness, and all of this goes away.

I think a sappy PR parade may be a better recourse in the meantime.

Get a sympathetic narrative about poor poor Silvio loosing the opportunity to make something of his life until the big bad NCAA intervened, and get him on Sportcenter, 60 minutes, Jerry Springer et al.

Hopefully DeSousa doesn't wear a $480 Gucci t-shirt and a blingy watch to the next game while KU fights to prove he didnt benefit personally from any impermissible benefits. Pretty tone deaf.

He should wear something to bring attention to it.

I thought it was Garrett wearing the Gucci 800.00 shoe. They both wear? Girls.

Edit: Gucci shoe for Gucci shirt. These kinds really need role models to tell them no.

I'm surprised I didn't see any ANTI-NCAA signs at AFH on TV Saturday.
Anyone at the game see any good ones?

I did not. I was pretty disappointed that there really wasn't much beyond a warm ovation and a pretty limp "We Want De Sousa" chant, or something like it.

I thought i might be splitting hairs if I mentioned that but it was the first thing I noticed as well. Now there is a whole lot that could factor in that...
1. That could be a replica shirt that costs about $20
2. Someone could have bought that for him
3. Do people still get extra money from their scholarship checks? If they do he could have blown it on that shirt.
4. I was scanning his Instagram and he has another photo of him wearing an LV belt and Gucci shoes.

Unrelated story when I was at KU...I remember I was on my way to class (one of the rare times) and happened to walk by Darnell. We started talking and he said something to the affect that I always looked fresh. Now at that time I was probably wearing some Mitchell and Ness throw back jersey but we started talking and he said I wish I could buy those clothes but every dollar I have I send home to support my mom and the family. That is why, whenever you saw DBlock unless it was a dress up occasion he was always in team issued sweats.

Darnell was one the nicest people I have ever met.

Not sure which is more head scratching worthy. Sous wearing the shirt to the game or Gucci for choosing the particular model they chose to wear the shirt on their web-site.

I find it interesting that Snacks has cooled down on flaunting his perfectly legal/legit free Adidas bling on social media.

A $480 t-shirt? That makes my head hurt.

Hopefully that is a sign that they are about to dump adidas second tier ass and move to Nike.

Hard to see a change being made until the dust settles. Gonna be a while.

From what we know KU still hasn't signed their extension with adidas, right? The extension that was suppose to be signed right before all of the FBI stuff came out.

It means the Nike contract would probably $10+ million a year LESS than what Adidas pays us.
