Rainbows you don't own a gun correct? What would you do in the event of a home intruder? What would be your plan if someone broke into your house at night with ill intent
A. Correct. I don't own a gun.
B. I am 56 years of age. To the best of my knowledge, I have had just one attempted "home intruder" in my lifetime. That person didn't have "ill intent" unless her being drunk and thinking she was going in to her own apartment was "ill intent".
Now if I had a gun and mistakenly thought she was trying to harm me and I shot her and killed her.....
Do you think that would have been a better outcome for both her and I than what happened?
C. Just like I did in "B." If I heard someone attempting to break in to my home I would first question the person. If the person continued to try and get in my home I would tell them I had a gun and the police were on the way.
D. I live in a semi secure building with 24 hour security. That doesn't mean someone can't break in to my apartment and kill me if they wanted to but thankfully I'm so far so good in that regard.
If I didn't hear a person entering my home and that person shot and killed me, oh well. Shit happens.
I'd rather take my chances of that happening then my shooting someone who wanted nothing from me other than some of my material possessions.
E. Right or wrong, I truly believe if I had a gun and someone else had a gun, they would probably shoot me before I shot them. If I didn't threaten them with a gun, and I believe the chances would be less that they would shoot me.
F. I have considered legally owning a gun. I have weighed the pros and cons. For me, the cons outweigh the pros.
I have ZERO problem with those who LEGALLY own what I consider to be "reasonable" guns and who feel the pros outweigh the cons for them.
I have a BIG problem with how easy it is for BOTH "bad guys" and "good guys" to obtain ALL KINDS of guns BOTH legally and illegally and feel there should be stronger/tougher/better laws and regulations in regards to it.
