So this 'person' I met the other day, who started a thread about meeting a new person, who was me...

...his name is Ousdahl.

I've always been curious how everyone else pronounces it. Most of the people I know and hung with pronounce it one way. But I know there is another.

is it OOZE-Doll

or

Awe's-Doll

???

are we talking phonetically or otherwise?

i’ve been told that the family uses the latter pronunciation, but i prefer the former

I'm talking like how is it supposed to be pronounced. Not according to the internets, but according to how it's supposed to be pronounced. Louisville, Kentucky, for example is pronounce Loo-ey-ville...but Louisville, CO is pronounce Loo-is-ville.

The person that was named this or the person that named this street...what is the intention?

bur my pronunciations are wrong often...

I say Lou-a-ville

and creek is crick...(you can thank my grandparents for that)....

also...why do so many midwesterners say Warshington and Or--E-gone

I’ve heard both but most said Ooze Doll.
I said it that way too.

My dad pronounced creek as crick. Also you went to see the show (movie) at the THee ATE er.

My dad worked nearby and called it Oozedale. They were the generation who named the streets in newer south Lawrence.
