But the rubes don’t care. They’ll keep sending him money. They are not smart enough to ask- if he’s a real billionaire why does he need our money.

Possibly soon to be known as “Unindicted Co-Conspirator Number __”…if he’s lucky.
Fingers crossed

Isn't the "machinery of law enforcement" supposed to be used to investigate and prosecute crimes?!? These indictments seem to be very thorough, detailed and reasonable.

that’s kinda what i was thinking

that statement is akin to, “if they can do it to Trump, they can do it to you!”
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

One of Trump’s true genius level abilities is his gift for making millions of millions of idiots think he has anything in common with them beyond basic elements of life support.

The shamelessness is very much a feature, not a bug.

What scares me is if a smart version of Trump gets into the Oval Office. I was worried that DeSantis was that but he was too impatient to wait for Trump to no longer be an option and will get smashed by Trumpism.

Oh absolutely. We're very very very fortunate that Trump has such a stranglehold on the party that a much more effective authoritarian can't even find oxygen.

The "good" news I suppose is that Trump has poisoned his base so thoroughly that they seem to look down on intelligence. They seem to be stuck in a cycle where only the stupid survive.

Another at least. He's keeping powder dry for Willis/Georgia. I also think it's interesting that we haven't yet seen a bread-and-butter wire fraud charge...which tells me that maybe Smith isn't done diversifying his court/jury risk...
