FWIW, I was at the first Burning Man, on Baker Beach in San Francisco, in 1986. The only reason I was there is because I had a good friend named Steve who owned a piano moving company and he needed help moving the pianos from his truck to the beach. The first one was non-scripted, very improvisational, and maybe there were 40 people there? It was pretty low key relative to what it is now.

Do you know if the originators (Larry Harvey and Jerry James) have anything to do with "today's" Burning Man? I have to assume it's not at all what they wanted it to become but hey, $ is $.

No clue. I've had friends attend the event over the last 5 or 10 years, but as I said, I only went that one time.

One of the best live performances I have ever seen was Monolink at Burning Man.

I'm assuming 2018 and not 2022. Or earlier than 2018?
