He seems to fit the classic "did great with a fresh message and another coaches players but quickly went in the toilet when he was responsible for the roster and the year over year success" model that we see in the sport far too frequently. Yet another example of a guy failing to achieve consistent success who was brought in because he was a good former player and not because he was a proven, good coach.

Well, to be fair, he lost his All American Center to Kansas in the off season.

Howard sucks. I think they'll let him suck for a little while longer.

coach prime?
Ask me again in 3 years. He barely had any returning players from the previous coaches and barely had any legit success once you look at the teams he managed to beat. He didn't beat a single team with a winning record and finished dead ass last in the PAC 12 in his first season.

I think Prime is a significantly better coach than Howard.

I actually think Prime might be a halfway decent recruiter/coach.

It's too bad that our matchup with Prime, who I cannot fucking stand to a billion, will be at Arrowhead instead of Memorial.

I hope we embarrass him.

Prime lost a lot of players because he ran them off.

Correct. Prime is overhyped, but has some ability. Howard appears all around terrible

My favorite moment of Prime being overhyped was when Stephen a Smith tried suggesting Alabama should hire Prime to replace saban

Wouldn't fly at Bama....but it would at a place like Miami. Certainly changed the entire atmosphere around Colorado football.

How much money did Colorado make off of the hype that Prime generates? Boatloads.

the howard hire at michigan is/was sort of like the hardaway hire at memphis. same theory behind both hires.

michigan is still basking in the glory of the football season. they probably don't even realize the dumpster fire basketball program.

Juwan Howard has more ncaa tourney wins (5) at Michigan than Prime has total wins at Colorado (4). We'll see where Colorado is next year now that he's had a full offseason to recruit. He has a ton of transfers coming in next season so definitely a chance to get more if the guys he wants. Nothing against him personally but I hope he fails because fuck Colorado.

Jeez. With HD, Michigan could have been 4-14 in conference. Or maybe even 5-13.

He's that good.

And HD was 1 of 6 players who left, including 3 starters.
