Zeke Mayo commits to KU

The 6-4 junior from Lawrence averaged 18.8 PTS, 5.7 REB, and 3.5 AST this season. Shot 39% from three.

I like that he's big enough to play with DH out there without making us super small.

So far, I like both Mayo and Kugel a lot. A lot more than the incoming freshman other than Bidunga.

I think he just said something after the loss and we ( me included ) overreacted and rumors caught on fire and he addressed it.
It's the same reporter who reported the Elmarko comments. He's been reaching out to the players asking it would appear.

Jamari McDowell commented underneath Kjs post "yea K 🤞🏿"

Patrick Cassidy says "best news I've ever gotten"

Michael Jankovich says "good"
What do you make of nothing in the comments from Dajua…nm

JFish sort of discussed it a month ago.

It certainly complicates things....but I think in real world application the NIL money is probably just forced to flow a different way. Could be through his parents. Could be through some entity in Australia.

He doesn't do any noticeable NIL that I have seen. Truthfully our guys don't do too much outside of HD and KM that I have come across. Skims and Adidas and JBL audio are the big ones I think.

KJ did a Freddy’s.

But shit, if we gotta back door the cash to Furphy’s fam and shit, it’s like NIL never even happened!

Takes you back to the good old days, right pdub?

I think he gave the stock answer Bill told the team to give, and has always told the team to give, when asked about things like this immediately after a tournament loss.

Kinda of cool that Bill went out and got two dudes out of the portal who both grew up KU fans.

Philon and passmore both seem like good prospects. I hope they still end up coming, but I wouldn't expect much from either as freshman. Is it still possible to bring in freshman to develop and keep around long term to play big roles in the later years?

The guards are going to have to be thinned-out, especially if Bill is really in hot pursuit of AJ Storr.

But none of the other players except HD gave that answer. DH said it was motivation to come back. Jamari said he'd be an entire "different beast" next year. And Elmarko said he wanted to come back.

An angle not explored here is that he maybe meant he would possibly declare for the draft to go through workouts and get feedback while maintaining eligibility. That makes sense too.

Either way, doesn't matter now. He is back. I am glad he is back. No matter why he is back. Or if he thought about not coming back.

I'm happy to add mayo and kugel but feels like we are still missing that explosive scoring guard I was hoping for

If Furphy somehow doesn’t go pro but also comes back an explosive guard breaking defenses down beating doods off the dribble, oh man

But yea big if.

that role is prob more likely a small guard.
