For sure.

Maybe Popvich or Phil Jackson would be good enough?

I laugh my ass off every time I see a UK fan say they need to call Jay Wright and Brad Stevens.

Jay Wright, sure. Give him a call. He'll say no, but call.

Stevens has made it clear he doesn't want to coach.

UK fans would eat pope alive.

I don't think Donovan will want to go back go college while he's still desired by an NBA team.

Bruce Pearl would do well there....but big buyout.

Same with Oats. I know he's said he isn't leaving, but I don't give a damn about north Carolina and what not.

i honestly can’t think of one person that could deal with the culture of that job hat seems a reasonable chase

i don’t see donovan or wright being interested

saw mark few mentioned too, but at this point i think “fans” are just throwing out names without putting a whole lot of thought into how a “good coach” might handle all the other bs that comes with that position

do any of them even like orange julius?

for sure it is all going on behind the scenes. but as far as i know, the khintuckey job is not even open yet. so i would expect everyone to be especially tight lipped.

in the meantime. all these guys at the top of the wish list are getting big raises and contract extensions from their current school.

HCBS will probably parlay this into his own raise.

For sure. Jay Wright willingly gave up coaching at a place he made into a powerhouse. He doesn't want to coach anymore.

Few is a good coach, but a terrible fit.

Oats and Pearl personality wise are probably as good of fits as anyone. With Scott Drew borderline capable of tolerating their fans.

Hurley geographically seems unlikely.

Pitino is old.

Maybe Underwood from Illinois? But he could flop by their standards.

If it were me, I'd offer Oats and Beard $250k more each day and take whomever says yes first.

Edit to add: at Kentucky, which I don't care about. I would not have them on my list for here, which I care about, because I consider their judgment to be highly questionable (to put it lightly).

Yeah, he's 68 so probably too old. But they might revisit that if they get turned down by all of their first wave of targets.

I remember when Roi left, there were suggestions that we re-hire LB as an interim/caretaker until we could get or groom the guy we wanted.

Obviously, I'm glad we didn't, since we got the guy we wanted, but I didn't think it was a terrible idea at the time.
