He isn't slow and white so he will never be hated like hunter
That's true. Deedrick was also slow and white.
I don't recall him being hated anywhere near to level of hunter

But that team was undefeated and ranked #1 early, then dok got hurt and we sucked

My updated minutes projections....

Starters:
DH: 30
Zeke: 30
Storr: 30
Kj: 32
HD: 30

Bench:
Elmarko: 16
Kugel: 18
Bidunga: 10

Leftover minutes for Clemence/Philon/Passmore = not many

I think an exciting lineup for when Kj is out is to go small with DH Zeke Kugel Storr and HD. 4 scorers around DH.

Looks like Self is loading up on scorers.

Thank. The. Lord.

It was looking dicey at the end of the season....not even May, and I feel like we've got a legit contender.

Self killing it in the portal

We thought that last season too tho. When he landed hunter, Timberlake, and arterio, it felt like we were getting all the top targets

KU has Dickinson, Adams, Clemence and Bidunga so I think they are all set for bigs. No need to get any more as I can see more situations where Bill only goes with 1 big on the floor now that he has multiple shooters.

I think Koby Brea would be a perfect fit to add. He's been coming off the bench so he isn't going to be pissed if he doesn't start and he shot 50% from three. Enough of this BS with not having shooters. Pile them in the wagon and let's get back to firing away.
I hear ya. I was talking about another big from the portal only if Zach transferred out, which has been talked about fairly often.

Griffen is supposedly on campus now for a visit and still considered a huge Kansas lean

I like the Brea idea, but he's running out of time....if Rylan Griffen commits first I think it probably means no Brea. Even if we force McDowell out, the playing time starts getting complicated with Storr Zeke Brea Kugel and Griffen all on the roster.

I am hoping we don't lose Philon and Passmore. They just need to be patient for 1 season and then there is a path to playing time.

What I like about Griffen is he's a proven player against P5 competition. Wouldn't surprise me if Uconn lands Brea.

Agree. Same with Kugel and Storr. They won't have to adjust quite as much to the level of competition on a nightly basis as Zeke will.

I'd rather lose either of those guys than Jamari

Sounds like Kugel might want out and the same with Labaron Philon. Jeff Goodman also reporting that Furphy is staying in the draft.

I am OK with trading up on Kugel. And we're trying to land the #1 PG in '25, Acuff I think his name is.

I agree; it kind of feels like Bill and staff were a little trigger happy with Kugel...he could end up being a very good player, but I think there's equal chance he ends up lost on the bench.

Yes. Acuff and Johnson. Both ranked top 10. Seems like, at the moment, we have a better chance with Johnson (according to 247, but it's obviously still really early in the process).

I think when we accepted the commitment from Kugel that Aj Storr seemed like a pipe dream.

And if the staff had to rank the Kugel Brea and Griffen, they'd probably rank Kugel last......so, maybe there's a chance we mutually back out of Kugel and then also force Jamari out to make room if both Brea and Griffen want to come to KU.
