It’s the Eastern semis.
( also I have Celts -8.5 )
I don't see how anyone left in the east can challenge them over 7 games.

The 76ers should have been that team.

True. I just meant that the 76ers actually had their full compliment of players, even though Embiid wasn't 100%.

Not sure if Boston should want Indy or NY?

Indy probably more balanced. But Brunson is on fire right now.

Fwiw (not much more than my post) during the regular season....
Boston beat Indiana by 51. Then lost to them by 10. Then beat them by 17. Then lost to them by 2. Then beat them by 5.

Boston beat New York by 4. Then beat them by 16. Then beat them by 10. Then beat them by 14. Then lost to them by 9.

Thanks for looking that up. I was too lazy to check and check box scores to see who played in each game.

That’s a hater post right there.
Rudy Gobert wins his 4th DPOY in 7 years.

The NBA isn't giving DPOY to a player whose Spurs team was 24th in points allowed (T-Wolves were #1) and 23rd in fg% allowed (T-Wolves were also #1).

and yet they gave rookie of the year to Wemby over Chet.

Also, those are team stats. These are indivudal awards.

Fwiw, I don't think Wemby should have gotten it over Gobert, but was surprised to see how good Wembys stats were in comparison.

Defensive metrics ( largely +/- vs the offense when player is on the court ) support Gobert here but stats/metrics are just kinda meh when it comes to that.

In this case, I would very much bet because the Spurs defense is so shitty that Wemby gets more opportunities for those stats - i.e. dudes are always coming at him because no one else can guard their guy. Think of it as a guy who scores, I dunno, 28 points a game on 52% FG vs a guy who scores 32 on 41% FG. And the 28 PPG game guy in on a team in 1st while the 32 PPG game guy is on a team in 23rd.

On top of that, while I haven't watch jack shit for Spurs this season ( 1.5 games? ) I have seen a decent amount of Wolves ( and Rudy in general ) and he influences the game significantly aside from stats - i.e. he's a patient defender and doesn't always go for the swat ( he'll just smother/distract and cause a bad shot ).

Agreed.

Really the only thing Rudy isn't great at is pick and roll defense....and even that is sort of nit picking.

Unless Wemby and Rudy went up against the same guys, the same amount of minutes, and the guys they went up against took the same amount of shots, had the same amount of rebound opportunities, etc., it's kind of hard to compare them "numbers" wise.

Sunny Boys fired their coach. Who do they replace them with?

Budenholzer. Never should have been fired from the Bucks.

Celtics going to need to step up on defense this quarter.

Someone has to bother Mitchell.
