I'm someone who attended WNBA games before Caitlin Clark was born.
I'm someone who has a relative that is the CEO of a WNBA team.
Meanwhile, if there was an NBA game last night, I wouldn't have watched the WNBA game.

No doubt Caitlin Clark is good for the WNBA and Women's Basketball. I wish her the best.
My and many other people's issue is that there are some really good other WNBA players (present and past) who are rightfully annoyed with the hype Clark receives - while there are better players and they are being ignored.

That's a really myopic reaction

Fairly recent pics I could provide.
The games I attended before Clark was born, I didn't have a camera phone.

That lower section is actually pretty full.
The upper section not so much.
Probably, what, 5,500 fans there?

My guess is it was closer to around 8,000. Possibly as many as 10,000.
Which is much better than the DePaul Blue Demons draw in the same arena.
Two side notes...
That game sent the Sky to the WNBA Finals.
I think (know?) Candace Parker was a better all around WNBA player than Caitlin Clark is today.

you may be right, but what i was impressed by with Clark was her ability to pass and get her teammates involved

Parker probably has the rebounding edge

I'm sorry, you're wrong, the attendance was actually 0.
What'd you use, Stable Diffusion?

I can't find attendance numbers for that game (Game 4 of the series) but Game 3 (the previous game) 7,421 was the announced attendance.
For the Finals the home games were announced at 10,378 - which is/was capacity. My guess is they wouldn't have had a whole lot more show up if the stadium had more seats.

Sooo

I am admittedly naive about this one, and sure could just google, and might eventually anyway.

But for the sake of message boreding, I’ll ask:

How does maternity leave work for female professional athletes?

I don't think there are any female professional athletes on this site that can answer your question.
