I agree with Trad in terms of my believing people would care if their kids were passed over but let's be honest here, we live in a society where the wealthy are often/usually "entitled" and have major advantages over the less fortunate. Not too sure what if anything anyone can really do about that.

and, ncaa bullshit...

edit: and mich, what if it was your kid that got passed over because of this?
How would I know if my youngster was passed over because of this. Do they tell you in the apology letter that "i'm sorry to inform you but your spot was given to a kid of privelage whose parents paid us to admit them."

Rich people have it good. It's good to be rich. this is somehow now news to the rest of us.

Yes of course. I agree.

But I still don't care about this. I/we have real stuff to concern ourselves with. Not this fantasyland bool$#!t.

When this story broke I noticed that both "Lori Laughlin" and "Aunt Becky" were trending at the same time on Twitter.

Isn't that punishment enough?

Lori Laughlin is an attractive gal. Famous. Well to do. Of course her children should not be expected to gain or not gain based on their individual merits.

this situation is dripping with some fucked up irony...an immigrant overcoming homelessness and being admitted into 17 different universities on his own merits, while the elite 1%-ers have to lie, cheat, and bribe in order to get their kids into school

I think the only solution to dealing with this week's news is to go have a waffle and eggs and bacon, or eggs and bacon and raisin bread and hash browns at Waffle House.

Rick Wilson says They are truly holding the fabric of our nation together in a time where institutions, norms, and sanity seem in short supply

Photographer @micahcash looked through the windows of Waffle Houses across the Southeast. These are the photos he shot and the observations he made. https://bittersoutherner.com/waffle-house-vistas … #wafflehousevistas #wafflehouse

There is something about the Waffle House experience.
It always looks like at least one of the employees has been in prison.

We were tempted last year to enjoy the Valentines day special at Waffle House but none around here had it.

The best Waffle House I've ever been in was in Wiggins, MS. It was woman-owned and all the employees were women, the quietest WH ever, with the best service and best food.

Craig Fugate, who developed that measuring index, is from Florida so I had heard of it. The nearest WH to me was in an area without much damage, and was only open in daylight hours, but they were open a couple of days after Michael.
