I certainly hope his successor will understand clock management and how to send in plays in the time allotted.

I seriously doubt it. New coaches usually clean house. Although today at least the D looked pretty good. Those 3 red-zone picks were awesome.

The linebackers coach should be a keeper.

The LB coach Miller has been good on every staff he's ever been on. He's the only one I'd keep on that side of the ball.

I think the only other coach on this staff I would accept keeping is Tony Hull.

Yup. The Cundiff kid from Bishop Carroll signed with Wisconsin last weekend.

Yet another area where the current coaching staff is sucking wind. If we wait until the end of the season to start looking for someone new, this recruiting class will be a total loss and the futility will last yet another year.

Technically didn't sign, but yes, he will likely stay with them. Second Kansas kid to leave the state for Wisconsin in this class. I believe a QB from Blue Valley or somewhere like that is going there. This is also in addition to losing a DL from a small school in NE Kansas to Wisconsin a few years back.

Oklahoma and Wisconsin are 2 out of state schools that have just came in and killed it regarding getting Kansas kids to their schools in the last 5-6 years.

Yes and no. When Rhule took over for Baylor after their huge scandal, I don't believe they had any recruits. Now I believe he ended with a top 50 class with only 17 recruits in a 2 month window of him recruiting for Baylor.

If Long gets a big name, or one of those up and coming coaches, there will be players that will want to come play for them.

In all honesty, KU needs to get over the fascinating of recruiting Texas. Yes, there have been some good players from there, but also there have been good players to play for KU that have come from in-state, Oklahoma, Missouri, Ohio, Louisiana and Florida. Just to name a few.

They're so focused on Texas that really good kids that are in-state are slipping away to OU or Wisconsin on a yearly basis.

Eh. He's 68.

You know who I wouldn't mind if they hired him..?

Jim Leavitt. Been doing really well as a DC in the Pac 12 with Colorado and Oregon. Experience with a rebuilding program like when he started USF from scratch and they went to #2 in a span of about 8 years.

Yeah he's been with Snyder, but don't know if he's that loyal to them especially after that Head Coach in waiting fiasco last year when Snyder said no to that.

Say what you will about Snyder, but he gets it done year in and year out. Age may have caught up with him this year, but he gets results. However much of that can be taught and caught would be nice to have in Lawrence.
