Nike just as dirty. NCAA has to come hard at Nike schools as well or else they’re worth even less than what they are now.

This is not solely a youth basketball phenomenon. Earlier this year, 13-year-old American Olivia Moultrie turned pro in soccer and signed an endorsement deal with Nike. American swimmer Michael Andrew turned pro at age 13, and by 15 had a suit contract with Adidas.

I don't know much about soccer, swimming, etc when it comes to endorsements, but I would guess they would be, along with the salary of being a professional, a greater amount than the value of the scholly/stipend they would receive for 4 years max. In regards to Olivia Moultrie:

Although no details on the terms of her contract with Nike have been disclosed, a New York Times story revealed that her agent said it was worth more than a four-year scholarship at a top university, which is valued at an estimated $300,000.

So in the 4 years before she would get to college, she can make more than what maintaining her amatuer status would MAYBE benefit her. That's just the NIKE contract. Now add in the amount she would make from her team salary. So how would she be better off waiting around just to preserve amatuer status? Which would probably end up with the NCAA suspending her because she took two pumps of ketchup from the cafeteria instead of the allowed one.
