NBA 2019-2020 Regular Season
NBA 2019-2020 Regular Season
A few thoughts after opening night......
LeBron may not be the best player who plays at the Staples Center this season.
I believe Frank Vogel has been and will continue to be a much better coach than Luke Walton but.... Last night it seemed he let LeBron do whatever he wanted - and what he wanted was to defer to AD - way too much. Some may say that's unselfish. Perhaps it is. I say it's more foolish.
Raptors still may be a top 3 team in the East even without Kawhi.
Tonight's games.....
Pretty sure this will prove I have no clue about the NBA - or at least no clue about predicting games.
Bulls -3.5 at Hornets
Pistons +7.5 at Pacers
Cavs +9.5 at Magic
Celtics +6 at 76ers
Grizz +8 at Heat
Wolves at Nets -3.5
Wizards +8.5 at Mavs
Knicks at Spurs -10.5
Thunder at Jazz -9.0
Nuggets at Blazers -1
Kings at Suns +1.5

first game of the year. dont read too much into anything. lebron knows AD is the one in his prime/youth. wants him to be the workhorse. and wants him to be comfortable/happy in LA.
but come playoffs. dont think for a second they wont be playing through lebron

Absolutely, because AD's history says he won't be on the court.randylahey wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2019 5:25 pmbut come playoffs. dont think for a second they wont be playing through lebron

Paul George with 37 points in 20 minutes. Clipps scored 150 without K. Leonard.
So far, George has scored 70 points in 44 minutes this season.

Has potential to be a top 20 NBA player.
But I'll say top 40.
But I'll say top 40.

Master of the obvious says good coaches are not good coaches without good players.
Which brings me to Steve Kerr. Is the guy proving to be not nearly as good of a coach as people have given him credit for being?
I get he doesn't have much to work with right now but still, the Warriors should not be 3-15.
Zero solace in anything related to the Warriors at the moment.

Re: NBA 2019-2020 Regular Season
I warned about the Warriors this past summer. Granted, I did not predict Steph being out, but they were getting killed with him.
NBA could use a team like the Jazz or Nuggets winning a championship. Give the fans reason to believe a team, and not just all-pros, can win and that the regular season matters at all.
Rumors of the NBA starting a worldwide in-season competition a la Champions League. That could be interesting.
