Either just punt it, or scramble and bomb it. WTF???

This is why I should be coach.
No, the safety is 100% the right call.

If you punt it, you can fair catch it, and set up the hail mary and/or be in a position where a penalty gets a tying FG.

A scramble and run, you give the ball back in FG position if any time left or something goes wrong.

A Safety, KU gets to run most of the time off (should've been all since the clock stops when it hits OOB, see Texas) and then you get to squib it to burn off the last ticks.

Great win guys! Glad to take my 100 in GTS!

There was only 7 seconds to run off either way. Don’t just accept the safety and toss it backwards with one fucking second left so you still have to punt. (And give them points? When is it EVER a good idea to just give the other team points?)

If, instead of being told to just take the fucking safety, he had just intentionally scrambled until he bombs it out of bounds, game over.

Hell, that shit was so dumb, why not just call it intentional grounding?

Looks like it's going to be your last GTS, too.

Ugliest win imaginable. Won’t help Beaty, but I am happy for the kids.

Might have been ugly, but they had to come from behind to win and did it. Hard not to see some progress on this team.

Definite progress. Have to think it is too little too late, though.

Dammit, we need to lose. Can't have Beaty back next year. Happy for the players, but were there over 8K fans at the game? Stadium looked at maybe 30% capacity on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon.

I'm for KU.

If we play a game or run a race I suggest we WIN.

What's going on in here anymore?

What would have happened if the time expired before Bender threw the ball out of end zone?

The game would have been over whenever the play was dead.

I think the safety was probably the best bet--it was because TCU has been incredibly lucky late in games too. The W. Bender looked better. But Kendrick or Stanley would probably have won this going away. Bender has no pocket instincts.

I would have given the ball to Pooka. Let him run around for a bit to avoid some guys and then kick the ball as far as he could to hit the scoreboard at the sound end of the stadium.
