Life is full of choices. Newton is always glass half full with his sports teams. Kinda wish I was the same.

How's about we not bet on KU football and enjoy any progress we see on the field and support the team?
Dude........................
How about we have a team that actually wins games.
Anything wrong with us having a team???
I don't bet on football or basketball. But I do know they pretty spot on.
I see your problem. Enjoy the progress.
So you see progress. In a Div 3 wizard looking across the field and seeing Stark, Matt, Riley and all the other coaches in Big 12 and seeing who has the upper hand.
So you think we looking up. Sunshine time.
Or the truth which is no different then Gill, Fatass. Beaty.
I left out Les because although I was against it almost made us relevant for a second.
You guys ok with year one we maybe win one game.
You guys ok with year two we win two games.
You guys ok with year three we win?????
I believe if we win five games you be over the top???
Honestly I really do not think you get it.
HC's matter
Look at Liberty ???????
A flat out terrible school. They hire a coach and bam. Why WTF they badass
Look I get your doormat attuited,
It's cool we getting one win.

I’m a realist and expect one win.
No evidence to expect otherwise.
Doesn’t mean I have to be satisfied or excited about another awful season of football.
Just anxiously awaiting a year where we are even mediocre at the sport.

Coaching matters in football, from the weight room to the wind sprints to the late game on Saturday. I think KU finally has someone with a clue and expect we'll see a lot better no quit team this year.

I was told season ticket sales haven’t increased like when they hired Miles but there is a sense that for once KU got a hire right who will build this program back to respectable levels.

I'm excited for, and have realistic, but somewhat high, expectations for year two. (by that I mean something like 4 wins and competitive in 4 of the losses)
The cupboard is not completely bare. This is a guy who can win with equal or lesser talent. Transfer rules can favor a quicker turnaround if you do it properly. No more pretending to be happy about lining up right.
Year 1 I don't expect much, which sucks.

I am curious if not seeing an increase is related to people like myself that bought 3 year locked in season tickets. If others were part of the group that created the increase when Miles was hired the wouldn't show up as new season ticket holders but might be just as happy with the new coaching staff. Some of those people might actually not like the new staff but signed up for three years so they are stuck with the tickets.
I am one that thinks that the new staff might do well. I don't think it is a complete reset but like others on here realize we aren't going bowling this year. But I think there will be an outside shot at it next year and a really good chance in year 3.

Something not mentioned but probably should be is that the Big XII itself isn't that good this time. After the Mangino meltdown, it was a perfect storm of tough scheduling and tougher league play. We have some shots this year.

Not to be unexpected. But could have been worse with coaching change. Still stings to be top of list. All those “super seniors” I’m sure attributed to that.

Seems like they should freeze players on teams with under 3 wins.

I would be curious to know just how many of those transfers would have not been back anyway due to graduation under normal circumstances. Seems like we had a large number of those.

A year-ish ago I kept saying how covid could be a blessing in disguise to help fill out our roster.
That doesn't work so well when all of the seniors leave anyway.

Exactly. If not for the pandemic season, the idea that the roster had been thinned out be transfers wouldn't even be a topic. A good number of those leaving would have been gone anyway because they'd have ran out of eligibility.
