A colleague of mine refers to that type of stuff as “hope porn”. I think it fits.

Are you sure this post doesn't belong in the "Meanwhile, Back At the Base", thread?

...About a dozen candidates for public office in the United States have promoted or dabbled in QAnon, and its adherents have been arrested in at least seven episodes, including a murder in New York and an armed standoff with the police near the Hoover Dam. The F.B.I. cited QAnon in an intelligence bulletin last May about the potential for violence motivated by “fringe political conspiracy theories.”

Matthew Lusk, who is running unopposed in the Republican primary for a Florida congressional seat and openly embraces QAnon, said in an email that its anonymous creator was a patriot who “brings what the fake news will not touch without slanting.” As for the theory’s more extreme elements, Mr. Lusk said he was uncertain whether there really was a pedophile ring associated with the deep state.

“That being said,” he added, “I do believe there is a group in Brussels, Belgium, that do eat aborted babies.”

I am more focused on the 10% who voted yes than the 90% who voted no.
He doesn't own the towers and has nothing to do with them anymore so why would they possibly want a Trump sign on the buildings?

To irritate people who get bent out of shape about the name being on the building?

I think you hit the nail on the head. In other words, I think we are both saying the 10% are complete assholes.
I can look out my window right now and see the Trump Tower. Thankfully I can't see the gigantic TRUMP that is on the (front?) of the building. I know several people who live in the building. The only one I have asked told me she does not like the sign. I asked her if she thinks it is a danger to her well being. She told me she hadn't thought of it that way. I said/asked, "REALLY"? I'm shocked she hadn't.

I think there are still people who associated Trump buildings with luxury.

I haven't been inside the Trump building in Chicago, but it looks very nice and I've heard it's pretty impressive. Aside from the giant Trump sign, it's a huge improvement over that terrible old Sun Times buildings.

That’s not specifically what I meant but yes, it’s something that could be considered. Of course not only Republicans shoot up places but to think a Republican is incapable of being disgruntled and mentally ill enough to do it would be foolish.

Very true.

Bbbbbut....bbbbbuut......gubmint healthcare! For a few femtoseconds once in a couple of months I get this really irrational desire of schadenfreude where I want all these people who were screaming "Death Panels" back 10 years ago to be hit with a massive bout of something so deadly that they would be begging for the gubmint to come in and cure them and the gubmint agencies give them the proverbial middle finger. "NO HEALTHCARE FOR YOU" - in the most Soup-Nazi manner. Darwinism!!

Then the better side of me takes over and tries to think of ways to educate them. Hope some minds are changed about better management of prescription drugs distribution and pricing, including Medicare and VA negotiating drug prices and other insurance providers tying pricing to that negotiated by these organizations. Wonder how many of those who are getting their medicines through this "public insurer" are opposed to "government healthcare"!

10% think it improves their property values, the 90% figures it doesn't. Why make the resale of your condo a political statement? Take the name off and let the value ride on the strengths of the property.
I saw the worst minds of my generation empowered by madness, bloated farcical naked,
dragging themselves through the whitewashed streets at dawn looking for a grievance fix.

Chapter 12 Bankruptcies Up Nearly 20% in 2019

There were 595 Chapter 12 family farm bankruptcies reported in 2019, up nearly 100 from 2018 and the highest level since 2011, when there were 637 such filings, reports the American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF).

It’s unclear how many of these farms were dairies, but Wisconsin led the nation with 57 Chapter 12 filings in 2019. “Wisconsin farm bankruptcies were up 8 filings from the prior year and were also the highest level in a decade,” reports John Newton, AFBF chief economist. (Note: Wisconsin lost 818 dairy farms last year, a full 10% of its licensed dairy farms.)

Minnesota, Ohio and South Dakota, all strong dairy states, were also among the top 10 states with Chapter 12 filings.
