If Pierce is an argument, then Collison is out of that argument.
If Collison is an argument, Pierce is out of that argument.
Mason is argued in both.

Its Mason.

Remember when he flunked government class and couldn’t get into Towson?

If we are considering careers as Jayhawks.
Otherwise a guy like Diallo is a greater Jayhawk then, say, Releford.

There is, of course, no right answer to this subjective argument.

In terms of career, though, Collison checks every box. Mason and Pierce are probably pretty close, but I’m not sure that the fact that Pierce’s 3 years were better than Mason’s 4 outweighs the NPOY awards.

Because MICHHAWK could derail the largest of all trains.

Agreed. Both Collison and LaFrentz had better overall KU careers than Mason but Mason's senior season was the best individual season that any of the three had. People forget that LaFrentz was a 2x Big 12 PoY and 2x 1st team All American with 2000+ points and 1100+ rebounds.

I also think - and I am likely grossly generalizing - that each of Mason and Collison sort of embodies the ideal of their respective coaches. So, if we're down to splitting hairs, I choose the guy that represents the better coach (and the better period in KU history).

Mason is everything we love about Bill.

Which is completely fine when discussing something as dorky as "greatest Jayhawk."

If you want to pick Embiid, I'd get it.

About the only guys I'd scoff at are most members of the 2018-19 Jayhawk team.

I agree with this to a point. But Collison mixed Bill Self-level toughness with his roiboi ball.

Honestly, what makes both guys so great (Collison and Mason) is that they could have thrived under either guy. Collison is the Bill Self proto-typical 4 man in a lot of ways (he showed a lot more of that in the nba), and I could see Mason flying up and down the court at the roiboi pace.

does one have to be academically eligible to play or to just be on the team?

if he is academically ineligible, would he still be able to practice/work out if he were to transfer?

would Grimes even want to practice/work out?

bear in mind, Bill Self is the reason he sucks.

Until he enrolls, I feel like playing professionally this year is a good assumption.

Ironically he would have really benefited from the longer 3-point line and maneuvering room at KU next year. But he should listen to people who stoke his ego by all means.

If you're as slow as he is, does extra space really help any?
