I was looking at Colorado's schedule since we play them in December.
Their opening game was vs Arizona State so I thought, whoa, just like other conferences, they started conference play early.
Nope. Wasn't a conference game. Dumb.

Was it maybe a game they scheduled years ago before CU left for the PAC12 and just decided at some point to leave it?

Good call.
If that's the case, then not dumb.

No, that's not the case.
The game was played in Shanghai. The Pac 12 has been having a team play a game in China for years.
For some unknown (to me) reason they had two Pac 12 teams play each this year. Obviously the game didn't count in the Pac 12 standings. Not sure why.
ASU and CU usually play each other twice a season. This season they play each other again in Tempe so I suppose Colorado kind of got screwed in the deal.
Hope that wasn't too long of a post for you.

Thank you!

On another note. I was just thinking about something. How many schools have won both a national championship in Football and Basketball in my lifetime. Off the top of my head I can only think of two. Florida and Michigan. That seems kind of surprising. Who am I missing?
I highly doubt Ohio State wins the National Championship in Basketball this season but if KU doesn't, I would mind seeing tOSU win both the Basketball and Football championships in the same school year.

Thanks Lonestar!

Turns out Michigan State won the national championship (so did Notre Dame) in football in 1966 so that would make 3 schools in my lifetime.

I could be wrong but it doesn't look like Oregon won a national championship in football.

Schools that won national championships in both football and basketball but not in my lifetime...
OSU hoops 1960
UCLA football 1954 (shared with Ohio State)
Cal football 1922 (shared with Cornell and Princeton)
Cal basketball 1959
Maryland football 1953
Syracuse football 1959
Arkansas football 1964 (shared with Alabama and Notre Dame)

Should have clarified my earlier post and stated Florida and Michigan didn't win their championships in the same school year. No schools have done that in my lifetime. Which I find surprising.

Jeremiah Robinson-Earl looked really good against Mississippi St this afternoon; seems like the kind of "stretchy" 4 that would have really benefited KU this year.

Duke beat Georgetown 81-73. Really impressed with the coaching job by Patrick Ewing and the play of NC State transfer Omer Yurtseven. I'll have to keep an eye on that Hoya team, they look pretty good.

and without looking at the box score I’ll go out on a limb and guess Georgetown didn’t commit 28 turnovers.

I watched a bit. I think I saw at one point they were in the high teens. Not sure where they ended up, but it wasn’t low.

Georgetown looked good against Texas but being that I didn't seem them play anyone else and by simply looking at box scores - it appears they must not have looked too good against Mt. Saint Marys who they beat by 13. Mt. Saint Marys is 1-5 and lost to Lamar by 15. They must not have looked too good against Central Arkansas who they beat by 11. Central Arkansas is 1-5 and lost to Baylor by 44 and Duke by 51. They lost to Penn State (predicted to finish in the bottom 1/3rd of the Big 10) by 15 points. They beat Georgia State by 8. Hoyaray!

The Teams: North Carolina, Seton Hall, Gonzaga, Oregon, Michigan, Iowa State, Alabama, Southern Miss

Battle 4 Atlantis could be some good games going on here.

What makes Alabama good? Or Iowa State and Michigan.
