And the Chiefs defense seals it. Great win for KC. With the rest of the AFC pooping their pants the last few weeks, the Chiefs are looking good.

Chiefs go into a bye at a pretty good time.

If Gutmans team had held on, the AFC race would be pretty wide open.

Chris Jones shouts out to his fam.
Was shocked to learn he only had 3.5 sacks.

Hard to win anything like this. Chefs will be watching the playoffs from home.

JUNK!
Gutter rightfully called a bunch of us out for giving up in the Chiefs. Looks like we'll win the AFC West and that we've turned it around. Especially the defense. Mea Culpa

He said they'd go 8-1/7-2 ROS.
That's looking doable since they are 3-0 to start his prediction.

4-2:
Denver, Vegas, Pittsburgh.
@ Denver, @ Cincy, @ Chargers

Assumptions made about a teams future performance are assuming nothing changes. The Chiefs have changed a lot on defense since those assumptions were being made.

Clark was injured and awful. He is now healthy and playing great.

Jones was playing DE and was not good at it. He was moved back inside and is now back to being a Pro Bowler.

KC picked up Melvin Ingram from Pittsburgh. That move helped get Jones back inside.

Sorensen was playing 100% of snaps with Thornhill out and was getting abused. Thornhill is now healthy, playing well and Sorensen plays much less. A double bonus.

Willie Gay missed the first 4 games. He is now back and playing really well. Another double bonus in that he replaces Hitchens, who sucked and is now out injured.

Bolton was having some rookie linebacker issues. He is now playing really well.

This isn't the same defense that we were watching 6 weeks ago.

Even a blind squirrel....
I'm more wrong than I am right about many things but I had a good feeling the Chiefs could and would only get better and other teams would get worse.
As grim as it may have looked, I wasn't going to count out the team I felt was the best in football the previous two seasons.
Still a long way to go but we all have to feel a lot better today than we did after the first 3,4,5,6,7 games.

Even though I didn't hear his name once last night, I agree with that. Although we rarely heard anyone's name if they weren't a Cowboys player so....

I heard two occasions where he was mentioned specially about his impact.

He had a tackle for a loss or no gain v one of the RBs.

I thought the defense would get better, but thought the margin for error very small with two bungled games. I didn't think the two high safeties would screw the entire NFL. But if it works on Mahomes, lesser lights will struggle more. Running became pretty damned important. Cleveland seems too stupid to get the memo, but Minnesota has turned it around.

Nice. Yeah, I agree that he has been a huge addition. The depth alone is big and allows us to keep Clark a little fresher. Such a bummer he chose to start the season in Pittsburgh but glad he righted his wrong and ended up in KC.
