Gabe Davis gone.
Kendrick Bourne gone.
Michael Pittman.
Ridley will go for way too much money.

I don't think DJ Chark is all that different than MVS so not very interested there.
Mooney or Samuel would be interesting but we don't have the cap at the moment to make a deal like that.

Can we have Michael Thomas just wait a bit to chase a ring?

Free agent WRs are too expensive and not worth what they are paid.

And Detroit just acquired TB CB Carlton Davis so it looks like they are out on a Sneed trade.

Swap 1st and 2nd's with Zona for Sneed?
Jump to 27th and 35th.
Loose 32 and 64.

They need a corner, we need to shed his contract, and now we have two picks in the top 35 in a season with lots of WR talent in that range.

Or would you rather the rumor of getting Detroit's 2nd ( 61st ) just straight up?
No way you give up Sneed just to move up from those two picks.

The value generally agreed on by NFL execs is more than the 61st pick.

If we can more than the 61st—say toss in a 4th—then sure—but instead of the last pick in the 2nd you’re almost picking in the 1st.

The thing about Sneed is, now teams know we really need to trade him for any cap flexibility AND you hate to make a contender better if you’re in that convo so that might ding us in negotiations.

Interesting to see if KC signs any sort of WR in free agency. Looks like the bets of what is left is:

Calvin Ridley
Hollywood Brown
Curtis Samuel
Odell Beckham Jr.
Tyler Boyd
Darnell Mooney

Brown and Mooney are the youngest at 26. I think Mooney would be a great add at the value he will likely get. Curious to see if KC chooses to add someone or if they rely solely on the draft to do it.

Sounds like Mooney is signing with Atlanta so now I'll hope for Curtis Samuel.

So far, this offseason is looking like every other Chiefs one in recent memory - except that Veach landed the big fish he casted at. The rest of the Chiefs' MO will be to seek value later on in free agency - and the depth of the WR part of the draft will absolutely help.

Yea.
To be honest, looking at some $$ WRs are getting, I don't see us getting Samuel/Brown/Beckham.

I could maybe see Boyd but meh?
And then there's Michael Thomas who I think could be possible.

Yep. Mooney got 3 years $39 million with $26 million guaranteed. No chance KC is spending that on him or any other free agent WR.

Let everyone else overspend chasing us and then continue to build the team the right way. Look at the cap hell the Chargers are still in. They have about 24 more hours to shave another $25+ million off their 2024 cap hit still.

We're probably looking at the Josh Reynolds type guys at this point.

I don't see any way that KC doesn't spend their 1st round pick on a WR now.

It's also why I could see them trading up for a guy they really like.
If you're fortunate you get a guy as good as the top 3 of this free agent class on a end of the 1st round salary.

I think it's a near-certainty - which means we as fans should be somewhat prepared for either (1) an incremental move-up that costs more than it feels like it should, or (2) getting jumped.

There will always be some fans who get mad at who KC picks because they spend too much time getting too attached to a particular prospect. Rice developed well over the season. Hopefully they hit on another one. There seem to be plenty of good choices and should be available to KC if they don't move up. If they do then their recent successful history of moving up to get good guys will buy my faith in the move.

I like someone like Bean sneaking reps as flanker, holder and third string QB. Off the radar completely as a late pick or UDFA

Mahomes just restructured his deal to clear up $21.6 million in cap space for this season.

Wouldn't be surprised if that means they are bringing Sneed back.

If you aren't getting fair offers for him, then bring him back.

But at the very least this gives teams dealing with us less leverage.
They can't say, 'well we know you can't sign Sneed anyways'.

I'd still deal him for something in that low 1st to mid 2nd range.
Or low 2nd with a 4th.

I think our secondary can figure it out without him and i'd like to have that 19 million to work with.
