I'd have no issues at all for him going on that - still a pretty big accomplishment to get your name in the rafters forever.

Retired for me means you were a Jayhawk legend.
Sorry Hunter, you'll never be that in one year.
HD does have a 2nd year option on his contract though right? Covid year?

I hope he goes that route. At best, he’s still a mid second round pick.

At best.

I don't see how he can possibly be on an NBA floor with his mobility issues.

He'll also get paid more to be at KU.

KJ is still my favorite but McCullar ( yes I think he would have returned regardless of NIL bc of his minimal draft stock at the time and seeing what KU did with Ochai and Jalen so don’t - you know who - chime in with something dumb like SEe CoLLEge BaSKEtbaLL IZ bettER nOW ) is getting easier to cheer for.

It didn't occur to me that I was your target.

Not wrong at all! I just didn’t think this was in scope…and I thought I was bullish on the year he’d have.

His development of a killer attitude and his newfound ability to hit late game dagger 3s has been so so key.

The rumor this summer was thay Kevin came back possessed and was basically living in the gym, not leaving until he hit 1,000 shots a day etc, not partying, just really focused. I would say those rumors were true and the effort has translated thus far.

I’m not surprised given our recent history with Ochai and Jalen.

KJ will be next seasons.

I have thought for a while that KJ has a NPOY a college ceiling. Just a question of how close he’ll come to it.

While I thought McCullar would likely get to his college ceiling, I had no idea that it was this high. No idea. I thought he would be all-conference and scratch out some down-ballot AA votes. Nope.

if it is KJ next year that would be so rad

but if it IS KJ next year, that likely means he shows up displaying some sort of consistent offensive production from further than 3 feet from the rim.

Which is mostly to say, a jumper.

I know he's got that little 10 foot floater sometimes, but even that only seems sometimes.

and I guess there's some outside chance KJ shows up with better handles, and does it as more of a slasher, perhaps...

I think he’ll be what Jackson or Wright could have been.

Jackson was a good shooter at KU.
If KJ can put up Jackson numbers he would get on AA lists.

I think he’ll be better overall, by a fair amount, and Jackson was pretty damn good. So, yes, I expect he’ll be an AA.
