We 'stole' Timberlake from UConn and they ended up with Cam Spencer.
Boy, we sure would be a lot better had we landed him.

Weird how things work out like that. He's been really good for them.

I know I'm fussing about our guards, but this is also prob Hunter's worst game so far.

only took 9 shots, tho that's happened 4 times this season.

only 12 points, his second lowest of the season.

Only 4 boreds. He hasn't had fewer than 8 in any previous games.

He was in foul trouble too, which hasn't happened often

He didn’t play as much because of a weak sauce third foul but he either looked hurt or the paycheck hadn’t cleared.

He was walking and standing more than running and jumping.

I didn't watch/hear the post game presser.
Wouldn't have been shocked if Self said the team was suffering from some type of bug (illness).
Can't think of another GOOD excuse for the lackadaisical performance. Other than teams have off games.

We always have off games this time of year.

And this team in particular prob needed a wake up call.

Honestly good that we saw how susceptible this team is v the zone early so they can plan for it to be used against em.

Self said he has a bad knee.

Well that might explain it.
There was absolutely no effort.

"This team" meaning both coaching staff and players. Right?

Just watched the post game presser.
First thing Self said was he is tired.
Pretty much threw the players under the bus without taking accountability but made a point of saying Dawkins defense was what threw them off.
Kept praising Dawkins.
Pointed out Hunter has a bad knee.
Up 16 Self said he told the guys they need to get it to 20.

One of the too numerous Gutterisms is - Excuses are for losers. Valid or not.

No, we don't "always". We lost January games to unranked teams only in the seasons where the team turned out to be disappointing. '21 and '19 were the other times it has happened and we didn't get out of the first weekend in either of those seasons. Our good teams that did well in the tourney didn't drop games to BS teams like this in January.

Good lord guys. Step away from the ledge. Not much difference between a January loss and a February loss.

And what are we considering "did well in the tournament"? Elite 8? Final Four?

Self should throw his players under the bus after that pathetic showing. Lazy, thoughtless passing for the second game in a row. No movement. Careless ball handling. Little defensive energy. Coaches cant make guys do stuff out there, they have to do it.
